You've ignored the luxury tax which will cost them $21 million this year. That puts them at $210 million. For that money they should win every year.

But, they look great on YES HD!

Who cares, It's not your money.

My wife has waited all summer for this! Now she can see Jeter in HD on the Pre & Post Games Shows. Unfortunately, the post season messes with the shows I want to record. (Yes, I am a baseball widower.)

Thursday's a tough call with Earl/The Office, Smallville and the Yanks all on at the same time.

I might boot Smallville to the bedroom since it is the only one of the 3 in SD (no CW HD love yet).

BTW... why does every Yankee hater always say money is the reason they hate the Yankees? As was said earlier, it's not your money, they are the best sports business on the planet so they make the most money (why not reinvest in the ballclub), and money doesn't always guarantee success... it just gives them a huge edge.

Why can't we Yankee and Met fans just get along together in peace? Let's go back to what we do best.... hate the Red Sox and Phillies :)

To get back to the original topic....

Since YES is part of my RSN, I've had YES HD since I got my 1st MPEG4 receiver in the spring of this year.

Scenario - Game is on my 60" Sony XBR. People would walk into the room and stop dead in their tracks with their mouths hanging open in disbelief. The picture is that good. So sharp, that as I've posted in other threads, there are times when I wish they wouldn't show player closeups (think "Godzilla").....

Hey, I don't hate the Yankees because of money. I hate them because they are the New York Yankees. Is that OK?;)

Wait a minute, I thought of another reason. The Yankees started the movement of having 15 minute performances of "God Bless America" during the seventh inning stretch. Now almost all teams do something similar. Enough already! Back to the game!

Who cares, It's not your money.

As a baseball fan and a purist it isn't good for the game for one team to be able to spend 2x - 5x as much an another. That doesn't exactly make for a competitive situation. That's why I care. I used to root for the Yankees prior to the Steinbrenner era.

Not competitive??? do you know that 7 of the 8 teams in the playoff today were not here last year??? how is it not competitive??? Now you have all these small market teams using the Yankees money from revenue sharing and putting a contender on the field.
So don't tell me is not competitive cuz you are wrong on that buddy...:nono:

Yankees suck huh... were are the Mets today ??? Oh I know, watching the Yankees in the playoffs...

So does this mean that Pre/Post game are HD now??

Lets not go there, but yes METS Suck and i'm a METS fan. Sorry but I won't be rooting for the Yankees.

Anyways back to topic. I don't see the importance of making YESHD national, specially now with the playoff's coming up. They could have added a different channel instead.

YESHD is obviously great for the NY Tri-state area, but nationally devoted only to the Yankees. At least SNY or the other RSN's cover different teams. (Rangers, Islanders, Jets, Giants, Mets). Also the Playoff's are going to be mostly on TBSHD. Why put YESHD now, they should have done it last.

You have just proven my point. The one team that is in the playoffs each year is the Yankees who outspend everyone and have an unfair advantage. That was exactly what I was saying. The other teams have similar spending amounts (BoSox and Mets are high too) and thus rotate in the playoff slots.

Thanks for helping me out!

Jnetty99 said "yuck", not "suck."

And, answering your question, the Mets are at home watching the Yanks fail before the World Series again. You'd think $250 million per year could buy at least 1 championship per decade.

Back to the topic....

Unless I'm mistaken, both the Angels and Red Sox were in most of the playoffs the last few years.

Poor bitter Mets fan. You're angry at the Yankees instead of being mad at your own team for not reinvesting the money the fans pay to see them. :sure:

You my friend are incorrect... last year we had

Athletics win series, 3-0 - VS Twins
Cardinals win series, 3-1 - VS San Diego
Mets win series, 3-0 VS Dodgers
Tigers win series, 3-1 VS this years champ... the NY Yankees

Yeap the Mets fan is a little bitter right now, I understand it sucks to loose after a 7 game lead with 16 to play... damn:nono2:

So is all programming on YES in HD now, like Yankeeography and Centerstage?

All Yankees Batting Practice, Pre- and Post-game shows have been in HD all year, along with all games.

Within the last two weeks, Mike and the Mad Dog has also been in HD.

I believe the NFL talk show with Bob Lorenz is also in HD.

So far Center Stage is still SD, but I'm sure that will change over time ...

So what really is the deal with Channel 622 YESH versus 684 "A3 New York YES RSN"?

Up until a few minutes ago, I was able to watch 622, but now I'm getting the 721 Error.

Yep, me too. This happened this morning also. Apparently, D* hasn't authorized us for the in market/ Yankee stuff on 622. I tried to call, but talked to a rude CSR who told me the problem was with YES and not D*. When the Yankee programs are over, the channel opens up. I tried to explain this when I called, but they're not understanding what I'm saying. I guess we have to just wait for them to fix this. I hope the pre and post game shows aren't "local only" or else we're gonna get shut out again. I've tried to reset services and restart, but still get 721.

I'm actually "in-market", so I should have 622 available 24x7 ...
