Totally with you here. I'm between 2 markets, one of which is #1 DMA NY, and not a single channel done yet, and no news of any forthcoming. While we're young!

Since it's an HR54, check and see if you have a distinct SWM power inserter (you don't need one). Check all your coax ends for looseness and age. The most problematic piece of equipment for me, by far, has been the ground block - it's an easy spot for problems to occur. Water intrusion, etc...

Depending on the provider, your "move" will likely be undone at the first location service lookup.

That won't work either - if Sunday Ticket goes non-exclusive, they will stand to lose a lot in the next contract with the network providers, as whatever 2nd choice they choose will cannibalize ratings on the network affiliates. They would need to get a similar number from DirecTV, probably a...

They were stubborn enough to not rollback a known bug for 4k in order to save native going away. If that's not a sign that it's never coming back (and that the people making these decisions are morons), I don't know what is...

Congrats to fox on graduating from swimming-grass-o-vision after far too many years. As 4K goes, it's not stunning, but tonight is a big step in live sports getting better PQ, even if it's not perfect. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It's not the LCC - this has been present on the AM21's for years, too. Pause/unpause always fixes it.

Ha thanks I got the hack backwards. Thought it was 1080i source, not 720p Thanks again to Directv for breaking this and taking away native. If ESPN goes, I might too, after over a decade.

Game looked terrible. Skippy frame rate nonsense again.

I haven't tested yet, but i have a theory here. The deep color switch fix is merely forcing a handshake. I do wonder if switching direct from an HD channel to live should usually work, and if the ones of us seeing this are usually just going from either recorded 4k or 104 to something "live,"...

One thing i will try tonight - going to RVU, instead of the C61k - it may shed some light on where the issue lies.

Had a few extra minutes last night, so I tried to watch a previously-DVR'ed BBC "Dynasties," which was typically excellent 4k from the BBC. I've watched the other episodes, and most of the one I'm still in the middle of, before, without issue. It was totally unwatchable - the "frame rate" issue...

...and yet they had time to forcibly remove native resolution. ...even worse, they're doing it right when they're pushing 4k on advertisements. Ironically, anything in 4k *forces* a native-style refresh. Morons.

You have the easiest cord-cutting scenario, though - the out-of-market sports fan. If i didn't live in the NY area, i would have dropped TV years ago. Alas, most of the live sports i consume are local, so they're blacked out on services like MLB and NHL.

    1) Resolution is a fact. "PQ" is an invention, if not an opinion. The only way lower resolution helps is to provide more comparative capacity. Given Dish's lack of comparable programming, i don't see how lower resolution can be seen as a net positive. 2) Who cares about the HD landscape of...

It's not your TV. The easiest fix, as stupid as this sounds, is to pause/unpause quickly. You'll notice the stuttering almost completely gone, assuming you're describing what many have seen for years.

No. The AM21 works the same. No streaming, but available to clients.

Nice! September schedule gives us lots of college football! Notre Dame games back after a hiatus. In HDR, too!

Indeed. Going from even good HD to FOX's awful swimming-grass-o-vision 720p is jarring. Here's to hoping they're the first to take the plunge

No, the "bad guide data" you speak of is the long-running-never-to-be-fixed "Channels I get" issue. No matter what the guide data is, it shouldn't try to record anything on channels you don't have in your subscription. Period. D* has never fixed this, even after years and years...
