On satellite - yes, on cable providers - some yes, some no.

As a comparison, the CBC regional games don't appear in CentRE Ice packages for Canadian providers.

Anyone with a Canadian Dish needs to start watching "That's Hockey 2Nite" on TSN/TSN2. Reminds me a lot of NHL 2Nite on ESPN2, extended highlights, good analysis, fun & upbeat.

    Totally awesome Oilers-Flames game

I'd say 67 to 75% of the late games are HD, not WS SD, but you are right the fact that there are any SD games is pathetic.

Agree, but I would like to see a regional game added at least some weeks for the viewers on the west coast, but then again that would be at 9:30am local start time so maybe point is moot.

Anyone care to look at what games NBC historically has covered? :) You are right, Pittsburgh and Washington have now been invited to the party.

In Canada, there are a good number of Habs games not broadcast on English TV. RDS is used a few times each season (or seems to be) on Directv when there is no English feed available either from Canada (CBC or TSN) or from the opposition RSN.

Leafs (CBC, TSN, Rogers SNET, LEAFTV) all HD and Habs all HD on RDS.

Funny. I've done that a few times to get Oilers announcers for the games on the US RSN HD games, too. What is PIA though is usually DTV will cut off Oilers post game show (the one that is a part of the game broadcast itself, not the extended one) before it is over on Rogers SportsNet West.

Oilers had 10 games on TSN in HD. 1 on TSN2 in HD (used Comcast Chi feed) 18 PPV games in HD. 12 CBC games (most in HD, a few SD 16:9 tho) so say 10. 1 on OTA station in Edmonton that was not in HD and 40 games on SNET WEST ( about 28-30 in HD). Most of SNET WEST Oilers home games were HD...

The Oilers games in HD were the non-Oilers team's feeds. So FOX Sports AZ Coyotes production of the game against the Oil in HD for example. Not 50+ CDN feeds of the Oilers in HD on DTV. Sorry if I confused anyone.

I would estimate 50+ HD Oilers games on NHLCI on Directv last season. That should go up this year. I think in Edmonton itself with local providers (Bell or Shaw Direct), it was 70ish HD games.

Before ESPN had a ton of baseball, I remember some nights of doubleheaders on ESPN and ESPN2 at the same time or games on alternate channels because of blackouts. But, ya, VS coverage has been good. First round scheduling by the NHL and broadcast partners north and south has been quite strong...

TSN2 used CSN Philly HD feed for NJ-Phil game.

The first round is non-exclusive, with Versus picking up two contests exclusively in each of the series during the second round. Then, full exclusivity skates in during the conference finals, before the network again televises Games 3 and 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

It seems like MSG is going against the status quo in all this which doesn't make them wrong, but does mean that they are going against the flow.

Also FIOS and Comcast and other cable companies have had Canadian games in HD via In Demand.
