Agree with the others that it appears to be a network setup/configuration issue, as opposed to GG2 itself.

Re-read your post with your added clarification. Still believe the original comments are unclear as to where you were pointing any finger. That said, you are spot on that people who have/had issues with GenieGo often did self-inflict them through network setups/configurations, or a lack of...

Well that's the ultimate test and report! I have dealt directly with 4 users who had issues with WIN10. 1 installed it incorrectly - long story, but by doing an uninstall and reinstall - they have been running without issues since. 2 installed OK, but got a couple of error messages...

As one who was involved in GenieGo and later GenieGo 2 from the very start of those offerings...I can safely say that your statement is simply untrue. While during the rollout and testing phases there were customary issues that needed to be (and were) addressed...the product has been...

Running on 4 PCs and a tablet successfully here for some time now. Know dozens of others running Windows 10 without any real issues as well.

Most folks know that Windows 10 is the conduit to sell MS Office and other products...means to an end.

Actually...those are myths....it depends on the person...some people can see beyond 60 FPS depending on the content and the display... http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/1572225-Mythbusting-quot-Human-eye-cannot-see-beyond-60-FPS-quot

This happened about 8 months ago - same symptoms - when they did an authentication server upgrade. It went away about a day or so later.

The standalone GG2 works very well and has for some time. I suspect that since you can't expand the storage on a Genie for transcoded content, and the Genie will also use its processor for normal DVR functions (in addition to transcoding), the internal version will be challenged to replicate...

CES was great to attend this year.
  13. Tech Talk - Gadgets, Gizmos and Technology
No. They will have their own invite-only event right before CES. Those of us who will be at CES got that information recently.

Of the more than 75 machines and 50 users of Windows 10 that are known by us personally...only 2 people use Edge - all the rest use Chrome for their browser. Works great with WIN10.

Indeed. One has to realize that First Looks may reflect devices which are prototypes in contrast to production versions.

Not sure where you got that info...but it's not accurate...

Getting back on topic... We're now up to 5 devices which will be in line for the Windows 10 update. Likely we'll do the update a few months after the formal release at the end of this month.

Best advice so far. It's for this very reason that rushing to upgrade is not prudent for most folks - you have a year. The biggest hiccups early on will likely come from shortcomings of drivers for various hardware, including printers, monitors, cameras, video cams, etc. Individual companies...

Pretty much...though HDCP v2.2 (p60) copy protection is set within HDMI 2...and more and more 4K UHD TVs are now supporting that standard. Some of the recent sets feature multiple ports with this format, while some of the earlier models may only have 1 such port.

Found an interesting piece on the topic of the current state of 4K UHD TV here: https://techrealist.wordpress.com/2015/06/26/will-4k-uhdtv-gain-adoption-as-a-viable-format-anytime-soon/ It's pretty high level, but contains a few points to ponder for those folks shopping for 4K UHD devices at...
