You can refuse any install. Just make sure to tell the installer before he gets started. He probably won't get paid a dime for any of the time that he spends with you, so try to get him back on the road as soon as possible. And don't be surprised if he cancels your install all together. No...

Same here. Saw one recently that that went through a hail storm. The signal levels were good enough to pass IV, but I replaced the reflector anyway because it looked like someone took a baseball bat to it. I've seen others that look perfect, but won't get levels above the 70s.

I agree that it SHOULD be replaced with another HR24. However, our inventory for the last couple of months has been roughly 90% HR21s and HR23s. Needless to say, we occasionally have to swap them with an older model.

Also, the technician might install a wireless cinema connection kit. If so, that will eliminate having to pull an unnecessary cable to your office.

I've seen improperly installed connectors cause this issue also. Usually when the dialectric isn't flush with the base of the connector.

If they do replace these channels, it will probably be with.....more shopping networks. Seriously though, the Nick channels alone are considered to be quality channels in many households (especially mine). Spike has some UFC, Impact Wrestling, and other shows. And everyone else has...

Correct. Anything less than 100% handheld activations and the tech will likely get griped at from his supervisor. If he drops below the threshhold, it can possibly affect other things. It's unfortunate that it will affect some customers, like joshjr, but it is what it is.

The tech activated the receiver the correct way. It's unfortunate it wasn't the way you wanted, be he did what he HAD to do. I'm just happy you were able to get it straightened out. Hopefully without too much of a headache.

Does the Nook Tablet use the Google Play Store? I bought a Nook Color for my daughter. The Color used a different app market. It only had a fraction of the apps available and you had to pay for the same apps that you get for free in the Play Store. I ended up putting the Cyanogen Mod7 OS on...

Just because it isn't ideal, doesn't necessarily mean it is the wrong way. There is more than one way to fix this and make it a good, solid mount. If you factor in the possibility of having to buy all new cable and the labor to bury it (if the existing cables are running through the concrete)...

Good info. I've been using 10000 for about 9 years now because it has "always worked." That meaning the power on and off and volume while in Directv mode. Looks like I'll have to make a mental note to start using 10810 instead.

A good friend of mine has it and it's nice.....for what he uses it for. It's not unusual for him to have friends over there running 5 or more xboxes on it at once. Personally, I wouldn't want that many of my friends in my home at once.

Same here. I switched from Uverse to Suddenlink cable almost a year ago. Paying for 20Mbps but my speeds stay rock solid at 45Mbps wired and a little more than 30 on the devices that are connected wirelessly. I could get 107Mbps for $107/month, but that's hard to justify when I can run...

I agree. 10000 has worked for the thousand or so Sonys that I've come across.

Same here. Yes, I watch more Directv than streaming. However, I can count how many times it's rained here in the last 2 years on one hand (two hands at the most). I have still seen more rain fade than dropouts/buffering while streaming on Netflix. As for Directv Everywhere, I just tried it...

I know it isn't going to happen (especially if they are doing away with the colored buttons), but I wish they would go back to the old way of how the remote would operate. I really miss the dash-dash delete. Also, using the green button in the guide to jump ahead a day or two is a lot easier...

Right next to the original pole is probably a foot or more away once you factor in the concrete that is underground. PITA to keep the grass trimmed up between the two. The Directv approved rail mount I suggested works great for his application and is hardly jury-rigging.
  18. DIRECTV Installation/MDU Discussion
I would use a rail mount. Here it is.

I haven't had the pleasure of dealing with these remotes so I'm not sure how they operate. However, he said mute/enter, not mute/select.

Yes, you will have to put up a different dish.
