  1. DIRECTV Connected Home
Thanks for the tip. This was the first time that I used GenieGo without any kind of signal since I got it a month or so ago. I appreciate the tip.
  2. DIRECTV Connected Home
I was recently on a cruise and had loaded my iPad and computer with shows from my GenieGo. When I fired up the app, just to watch the shows I had transferred, it took nearly 5 minutes for the app to search for a network, validate my GenieGo, look for updates, etc. Anyone have any idea how I can...

    That's not good news :(
  4. DIRECTV Connected Home
The record option works ok,but recording and downloading an HD show is really slow, even at the faster speed. I Gus's ill have to wait for the next update and see if that works.
  5. DIRECTV Connected Home
Okay... Tried a Different port...same thing... So I ran the Ethernet cable directly into the hr34.... Still not enough speed. Is there something different about the hr34 versus the hr2x series that would cause this?
  6. DIRECTV Connected Home
I've done 1 and 2 multiple times. The interenet is connected and it shows in my router when I look at the DHCP listing. Haven't done 3 yet, so I'll give that a try. If all else fails I suspect that I'll have to go out and buy another switch to test with since I don't have a spare. I really...
  7. DIRECTV Connected Home
Okay... here's the deal. I have 5 DVRs in the house, including the HR34 Genie. I can do "instant" on demand on the older DVRs with "play now". However, when I try to do On Demand with the HR34 I get a message that says my connection is too slow and the download process is miserably slow. Now...
  8. DIRECTV HD DVR/Receiver Discussion
I finally upgraded last week. The CSR was honest with me and told me to keep my receivers rather than replacing them with clients. The only advantage for me using a client would be programming the Genie from one of the clients. You can't do that with the HR DVRs. Net net, I upgraded and how...

It's only for regular season games. No exhibition games are part of Sunday Ticket.

All they need to do is to nicely call D* and explain that they're thinking about switching to dish and explain the offer and why they want to switch. Depending on the status of their account you never know what they'll offer.

I suspect that since the last few system updates were rolled out by television market, they now have the ability to broadcast EAS messages the same way. An EAS message will apply to an entire TV market, so it looks like that's what they were testing. Now, I wonder if that message will also...

Actually, they're doing a lot more "reality" tv than they ever did before, especially MTV and VH1

Free on Hulu or Hulu+ tomorrow.
  14. DIRECTV General Discussion
I agree... Me TV would be a great alternative to TVLand... would I miss Hot in Cleveland, yeah, but not too much.
  15. DIRECTV General Discussion
Depends on which half of the channels :lol:
  16. DIRECTV General Discussion
Carl... I think it'll still be on Hulu, since I think they have a contract for that. I'm going to watch it on the big screen connected to the computer. That's the only think I watch on their channels that I would miss. So I still have it.
  17. DIRECTV General Discussion
Just to add to your rant, anyone out here who believes that you're getting any kind of accurate status from either DirecTV or Viacom is blowing smoke up their own butts. I don't believe anything that either side is using in their PR war. The real truth is somewhere in the middle and until it's...

I'm simply amazed at the number of lawyers and accountants we have on DBSTalk.
  19. DIRECTV General Discussion
I suspect that everyone else is watching this closely to see how it ultimately will affect then. If Directv "wins" great. If not they're going to brave themselves for their next negotiation.

Comcast here charges 18 per month for a crappy scientific Atlanta DVR and $10 per month for a plain old receiver. Work out those numbers with multiple DVRs.
