I've had it happen to me a couple times. Usually I will hit the cancel button until I'm back to watching TV. Once there I go back into the DVR and access the recording and it is usually back to its quick self.

Yes, but his wired connection terminates in a wireless link to a hotspot. So in his case he is going to be "wireless" no matter how he is connected. The difference is in the wireless band he is using. The "wired" connection terminates in a wireless band that is shared by the campground and...

No difference. The monthly charge for all DVR's is the same.

I don't know, there are still a lot of us rural customers that don't have decent Internet so streaming really isn't an option. Considering the best internet connection I can get is a 4Mbps/512Kbps DSL line I won't be streaming anytime soon.

It sounds to me like either the Motorola or Linksys, probably the Linksys, has had it's firewall or port filtering turned on and it is stopping the signal. You will need to get into this configuration on the device and adjust it to allow the Dish traffic thru. Unfortunately I don't know what...

Exactly. Do a search in this forum and you will find a lot of threads about bad guide information.
  7. General DISH™ Discussion
Dish gets their guide info from a 3rd party, like most of the other cable and tv providers. The channel provides the 3rd party with their schedule and information which is then distributed. However the 3rd parties are known to enter the information incorrectly which is why you have the...

I don't think so, but we have cycled power on both H2's with no changes to the behavior.

Yeah something about the latest update. Mine does the same thing.

Yes this is a known issue with the latest software update. It may also be what is causing your playback issue, although I have not experienced it myself. I can sucessfully use my Living Room Hopper to watch recordings from my Bedroom Hopper successfully.
  11. General DISH™ Discussion
Interesting, I rebooted my Hopper last night and when it came back up and I looked at the tuner activity and tuner 1 was "Software Update".

It should. While I only went to a Hopper1 (that was the current back then) mine worked fine. Others have posted here that theirs worked fine going to a H2 or H3.

No if it says it is the living room it should show the living room recordings. I noticed this a couple days ago and just thought it was a fluke. My best guess is this is an "undocumented feature" in the latest update. It will probably be fixed in the future - either to show the correct...

New Remote (which I believe they have done). I had the same problem with remotes for my living room and bedroom hoppers that had lots of use. The buttons gradually wear out. New remotes work perfect.

So you wait until the message in the lower right of the corner pops up about recording settings or do you immediately skip forward? I have a Hopper/w Sling (earlier version, same OS) and this seems to work for me but I always wait until the recording settings message appears.
  17. Hopper System Support Forum
Probably a cross-over. I have 2 Hopper/w Sling and they don 't see each other thru a switch at least to do the transfer.

I keep asking myself the same thing when them made those of us with Hopper-2's upgrade to the new UI.

So I had a chance yesterday to create a seek timer. Once you have your search results select the program you want to record. In the lower left corner of the screen should be an option to "Record when available". Select this option. This will create the seek timer. You can then edit this...

A timer that is not channel specific. It will "seek" on all authorized channels for shows of a similar name and record them. You can create them it is just very difficult. No longer is it a real option when creating a timer. However if you do a seek and don't find anything this is the only...
