  1. General DISH™ Discussion
From FHSPSU67 in the DirecTV forum: "SWM: Single Wire Multiswitch - New multiswitch that can run through wideband cable splitters/single wires to each receiver (even dual tuner receivers)." I'm not sure if SWM is DirecTV-specific, though, but that's what it means.

I'm not affected (I'm in Arizona and not a Dish sub), but I know several people would want to hear about this.
  3. General DISH™ Discussion
The contract between WTHR and WBNS (collectively stations of Dispatch Broadcast Group) and Dish expires at the end of the month. Dish and Dispatch have been arguing over HD carriage for three years. (thanks to a SatelliteGuys member for posting about this) This gravely concerns me. It's two...

Thank you. Without you, the EKB wouldn't be half as good as it is today.
  5. General DISH™ Discussion
The coverage area of the old Turner South is the same as the Braves coverage area (including those mysterious "parts of North Carolina").
  6. General DISH™ Discussion
    1. KSWO HD tomorrow. This is also an indicator that other co-owned locals (KXXV, KWES, and KFDA chief among them) could be coming in HD soon. Drewry Communications owns all of these stations. 2. WBRZ is returning in SD and HD tomorrow, ending a yearlong retransmission consent dispute...
  7. General DISH™ Discussion
Actually, they do end up carrying those subchannels if it's a condition of a retrans consent agreement and if they're with a major network (Yuma is a weird exception). WVNS-DT2 is Fox, by the way.
  8. DISH™ High Definition Discussion
*gulp* One HD channel counts as "HD local channels"? I understand it's a small market, but there's a CBS (KVTV) in full power, too.
  9. General DISH™ Discussion
The KSNF tower is back; has the KOAM and KFJX reception equipment also returned? Are you still receiving Springfield locals replacements?
  10. General DISH™ Discussion
And today's uplink has been done. I'm posting the Uplink Report Highlights which will tell you what happened. And Dish's Twitter has been established as reliable. Their HD Tuesdays are my favorite part; look at the bonanza it gives!
  11. General DISH™ Discussion
Yes, it's true, ShapeShifter. twitter.com/dishnetwork That could be good news for Fort Wayne subs too, because WPTA-WISE also falls under Granite (and Malara, their shell company). That is an "illegal" ABC-NBC duopoly, and I wasn't sure if it were going to be available from day one for Fort...
  12. General DISH™ Discussion
Dish did an HD Tuesday on Twitter. They've announced KVAL, KIDK, KBCI, KIMA, and WKBW HD for tomorrow. Something smells Fisher-y...and don't take it for Granite.
  13. General DISH™ Discussion
There were issues. I had to go to another site to get the uplink report. (Even they were a little late to the punch.) A bunch of locals (Richmond, Tampa, OK City, WPB, Birmingham, Tulsa) were added to 129 in HD. Bend and North Platte SD was added but not made available. Univision was added in...

In order to get MLBEI in 2007 to even In Demand was an ordeal.
  15. General DISH™ Discussion
KBCI might come soon...who knows. KNIN as a CW won't come anyway.
  16. General DISH™ Discussion
Good news for Roanoke people: WDBJ HD was just turned on. No other Schurz stations were, enough to leave my retrans consent notice on them up.
  17. Local Reception
With that high of a number it might be nonexistent.
  18. Local Reception
Somebody reported getting WBTV-DT Charlotte in KC...but WBTV-DT is UHF 23.
  19. Local Reception
Yeah. By the way, it seems like KFPH-CA (not the full-power TV station in Flagstaff) is gone (KTVW 33.2 replaced it). 15, 10-45, 61 already gone. (3 is a nightlight no matter how bad its reception is.) Really lame analog signoffs compared to some I'd seen. The first analog station in the state...
  20. DIRECTV General Discussion
All of the stations on the dark list are owned by Equity Media.
