I just did that. Not the Kleenex part, the switching provider part. What OP needs to realize is this - cable and/or TiVo require that Internet access, and they're probably collecting more info on you than AT&T/D* would think to collect. Switch providers, after a few days you'll no longer even...

You can teach the Harmony Hub any remote commands that the Logitech database is missing. And assign that command to any button or screen position that you want. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

I didn't say that you cared, I said your reaction was a bit ridiculous to something that doesn't concern you. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

I had the top package and 5 TV's, but I don't really see why you'd have such a reaction to how much money I spend for something like TV. I can afford it, and though I never loved my bill amount I tolerated it. D* made me pay attention with their rate increase that hit just after my discounts...

No I won't, not if I switch between cable and telco. Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk

I had a discount that expired in December, something else that ran out in January and then the price increase - my bill ran out to $215 a month. Add $80 a month for awful TWC Internet and $295 was just too much. 1Gbps fiber and all channels I had minus Starz for $170. The equipment isn't...

No, I didn't describe that right. There are only two TV's, one with the HR44 and one with the HR24. The switches have been in use for over a year because I've had too many HDMI devices on each TV. The switch is powered and it allows the Slingbox to still work.

My Slingbox M1 on my HR44 runs through this switch and it still works like a charm: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0049SCB2Y/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1436933881&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX200_QL40&keywords=kinivo+hdmi+switch My Slingbox Solo is connected to an HR23 that that wasn't connected via that switch on...

I'm in Northern Kentucky and the fibers are all around me, but CinBell has dodged us because our subdivision is all underground utilities. Google could buy CinBell for less than one month's food budget in their cafeterias, that'd make me happy.

Yes, use a different device to access YouTube. Seriously. It was cool and all for a hot minute when D* added YouTube, but for as dumb as my smart TV is even it does a better job with YouTube, by a lot.

The average house in the US has 2.5 TV sets, so...... The 2nd gen hardware records 8 programs at once, so the speculation is that the TV limit will go to 8.
  13. DIRECTV General Discussion
I can't get Google Fiber here in Northern Kentucky, but Cincinnati Bell is getting closer and closer with that Fioptics thing that they sell. Their equipment isn't as nice, and I couldn't quite match the TV package that you're getting, but $130 a month would get me gigabit down 200+ up and all...

So you want the OTT HBO Go to have less? Real HBO Go, the one that comes with a paid subscription has pretty much everything that's on HBO, plus nearly everything that HBO has ever done. I don't know how HBO could make it any better than it is right now.

All of the TV Anywhere apps are currently giving me the same error with my D* service.

I am, once again contemplating moving to cable, but it has nothing to do with the Watch apps from Disney. I live in Kentucky, so I'd be in the area that will be sold to Charter.

Playing defense for D* isn't going to change anyone's mind on this. D* is the only provider that matters that still doesn't offer Watch ESPN. Tell us all how we're getting our money's worth, won't change a thing for me or anyone else that wants it. I could pay TWC less money than I pay D* and...
  18. IPTV Hardware
There doesn't need to be 4 or 5 competing dongles for the competition to spur lower prices. The Roku Stick and Chromecast are both very reasonably priced, and the Fire TV Stick will drop right between those prices in just a few weeks. If Walmart were bringing a competitor to those devices...

If you don't watch sports, cut the cord. D* ARPU is around $100 per month. If that's you, you can cut the cord and buy full seasons of the shows that you want from Amazon, Apple or Google. At about $30 per season, there's got to be a point where you actually save money in the end. Deal with...

Chromecast, Roku Stick, Fire TV Stick and now the Vudu Spark. This whole stick thing is getting out of hand. As a 1 trick pony, anything north of $9.99 for this thing is a waste of money.
