VOS, quick question. is there an optimal layout for my system? I'm getting ready to rewire my whole house and it would be a good time to do my DTV too. It's a fairly system system, as follows... HR34 -> SWM power -> 1x2 Splitter -> dish HR24 -> 1x2 splitter - dish (just the one splitter, which...

VOS, I'm curious as to how much loss the PI introduces? My system is stripped down to the basics now, a SWM-3 LNB, a "Green Label" 2way splitter, about 30' of RG-6 to an HR24, about 50' of RG-6 to an HR34 and the PI. Yet my phy levels are still -24 and -25. I'm not having any issues, but I...

Surprisingly, no DECA issues. I've further simplified my setup. After lots of reading, I've discovered (thanks to you) that with an HR34, I don't need the DECA BB bridge anymore. Now I have a single "green label" 2way splitter with the PI-21 on the leg with the HR34. The HR24 is on it's own...

Hey VOS, thanks for posting so much great info, I do enjoy learning about this. I was hoping to some feedback on my current layout. Sorry for the very basic drawing. The splitters are not "green label" - I have them ordered, but they are taking a long time to get here. What they are is...

Well, my HR23 died for the 3rd time THIS YEAR. So after a LOT of complaining I got a great deal on an HR34. They required installation.. So I let the tech do his thing. Once he was gone, I redid the whole thing. I'm attaching a basic diagram for feedback. I redid the whole thing because I...

Okay, after asking him twice about the power injector, and telling me that it isn't needed... he tried one - looks like it's working now.

I have an installer here now... I think it's his first DECA install... NOTHING is working. Can someone give me a fast diagram on how this should be all hooked up? I have an HR24 and an HR21. Not sure what he put on the roof. Thanks

Same problem here. Clean Windows 7 install on a brand new top end Core i7. All I get is Activation Failed.

Perfect. Thanks. Upgrade complete. As an addon to the "how-to's" above... I would recommend using a UPS and then issuing "hdparam -W1 /dev/sd*" to enable the write cache on the new drive. my HR21 was 98% full and the whole process took just about 45 minutes. (Used my Mac Pro's...

Okay, I've scanned this thread a few times now and haven't seen what I'm looking for... Does this also save all of your series link data? Or am I going to have to search for all the programs we record again?

Um... a T1 is only 1.5mbps. about 1/60 of the speed of the 10/100 interface. and I *DO* have fiber. 30mbps. which is still 1/3 of the Ethernet speed. So, the internet speed is a pointless argument. MRV - maybe. Depends on if DTV is planning on streaming or doing a full transfer. I would...

I was hoping that this release would speed up the HR21... But it doesn't seem to. Maybe even slower. The guide appears to have a delay of about 1.5 to 2 seconds each time I scroll the pages. (Yes, the animation is turned off) I was accustomed to the R15 that is very quick to respond, almost...

Not these ones. They are on an external controller - PIC based. Helps to keep the fans in perfect sync, and thus keeping them harmonically in tune. (so they don't sound funny)

I picked up the fans, controller and power supply from coolerguys.com. The fans I picked are only about 28db. About the same as the 3 80mm fans in the back of the Plasma. They are not loud enough to be heard with the tv volume at the lowest level.

Here is my solution. I made a nice mounting plate and mounted two 120mm 12v fans (1600rpm 28db) that are thermally controlled. They are off at 80F, 50% at 90F, 75% at 100F and 100% at 110F. My HR21 has never exceeded 104F and the Apple TV isn't even close to as hot as it was sitting on top of...

Is there any chance in hell that there is a remote code in the RC64R(B) that will work with the Apple TV? If so, what is it :)
