If you are in an MPEG4 market, yes, as that is all they use. Considering they shipped you an SD model, you're obviously not in one.

The SuperBuddy does hold up better, but costs a helluva lot more. AIM meters are awesome but extremely fragile. If you're still going to do excede as well, the SuperBuddy is probably your best option to begin with.

    Push the record button.
  4. DIRECTV Connected Home
Don't bother with static, leave it on DHCP. Every time your dvr's reboot (power outage, software update) they're gonna want a new IP, so if they're on static, that'll bork your whole home dvr after the first reboot.

The one in the middle is the power supply. Leave it alone. Disconnect that line and every tv will say 771-a. The top one is 1-8, use that for your hr24s. The bottom is 9-16, use that for the 4 h25s and bb deca if possible.

Maybe that will help a bit. Never underestimate all of the useless information available on youtube.

72.5 area that hasn't fully transitioned. May be doing their transition now, thus the upgrade offer.

What I meant by that is if it's the 21v/28v line or not (assuming a swm install), a 6Ω gain per 100ft will screw with the signal. Other functions like MRV would have major issues if it even works on that line. Non-swm, should be non-functional because of the voltage drop that would come with...

Have to agree. Any company that uses the damn Deathstar as their corporate logo is just untrustworthy to begin with.

To answer your original question (regardless of voltage carriage) if you're gaining more than 2-3 Ωs per 100', the cable needs to be replaced. Plain and simple. If it's 74Ω @ the terminator and 81Ω @ the other end, replace it. More than likely, its a hard bend, a kink or an electricians...

You know, when I don't read the fine print on a contract or do my homework ahead of time on a service that will bound me contractually - I for one, do not go on the internet to ***** to random strangers about how its someone else's fault and how my butt hurts. Just sayin.

That splitter actually wouldn't work very long. It would work for a few days but then no one would have any guide info. Seen that happen many times. Has to go down to 2 mHz.

From what I've always understood, there are industry standards on HDMI cables, thus the HDMI v1.1, v1.4, ect. So logically if there is a industry wide standard on the cable, the inside of the cable in question should be near identical regardless who makes it. Gold plated connectors and a nice...

I don't know why no one else has mentioned this handy dandy tool yet. It's the absolutely most used tool in my pouch and unlike other cats on here, I do this for a living. If the connectors aren't going on smoothly, they're getting hung on the pvc jacket, as the inner metal tube (the one that...

I just love how some people feel entitled to be a douchbag on the internet to complete strangers and jabber on and on and on about how they pay a whopping and astonishing six bucks a month to piss and moan about how nothing is their responsibility and how everything is someone else's fault. If...

I use the "scan" function on mine quiet a bit. Ever wonder WTF that dish is pointed at when the dbV bar is screaming but it still says searching, hit scan. At least give you an idea of what direction you're off in. (I always hit the 110 or the 91)
