Well at least you have extra runs of coax in place to test with.

Sixto and dmurphy, how did you get the "Multi-Room HD DVR "free for life""? For me the "SD Only STB" was under the "free for life" option, but not the HD MR DVR. I'm wondering if I missed something, or if it's your location, or just the amount of equipment you ordered. Also, which HD DVR did...

I posted this in another thread, but... I just pulled the plug on DTV. I already had FiOS Internet, but I bundled TV and got the Quantum 50/25 speed boost. I love that "Faster than 95% of is" part.

Well I just thought I would say hello to the FiOS TV (FTV) thread. As a 10 year customer of DTV I finally pulled the plugged on the service. I already had FiOS for Internet, and so by bundling with Verizon for TV I was able to: 1. Upgrade to FiOS Quantum (50/25) for free. 2. Add a second...

Would adding receivers to the existing account cause the current contract to extend? Other than privacy and the financial responsibility part, I thought combing would make more sense too. However, as I recall, calling in a move did not extend my current contract, so that might be another reason.

Space has never been an issue for us. It's like all space, the more we have, the more we fill... But we really don't need it... If we can't keep up with the buffer, it's time to start deleting. While MPEG is an issue, I'm willing to trade no more rain-fades for higher compression (while HD is...

The best deal I could get was half-price... But that was a while ago.

For the longest time a single HD DVR was a better deal than FiOS, as Verizon's "rental" rates were higher than my "owned" receiver with discounts. Now that the discounts are gone, FiOS is a better deal, in fact we can have two receivers. I'm currently crunching numbers to justify the move, but I...

Mike, I think we are getting ready to go your route. Build my own PC based OTA DVR and use a media extender. Most content we want is on-line, so the monthly cost for DTV does not justify the cost any longer. DTV is nearing its end in our household. Why did I BUY the AM21 if it's not going to be...

Good tip on the call signs... I will pursue that. Thank you.

Have you ever tried it? Seems like it can't be done, since now the arrow keys move between the channels on the mix screen (and UP does not bring up the quicktune menu). Thanks

Voted "don't care" - I saw nothing that wowed me (unless you have a thing for icons). I would have thought the HD program guide would allow a time period of greater than 1.5 hours to be shown (increase columns). I would have also thought the number of rows would be increased too. Our favorite...

Forgive me for not reading the entire thread, but I'm trying to understand the AM-21's vs. my scanning television's channel list. I know my HR22/AM21 pair downloads the channel list. This list is 10 channels short (not counting subs, that brings the total to about 41) of what my TV picks up via...

Thanks for that! That sounds much better... And yes, that hold method is unpredicatbale... Hence my disdain.

Cool idea. I see cell phones going this "Customize your experience" way. With everything getting so smart, maybe that's what we need... A build your own DTV GUI toolkit.

Even two presses of yellow to get to the CC would not be bad. The guide, info, etc. buttons have double-press functionality. If the second yellow press would bring up CC menu with an option highlighted, a press of the select would still keep it to three button presses. Turning off would...

Thanks Tom (and BL3 for this thread). This is going to be a pain. My (main) use for it is when I watch cycling... I'll BM the interesting bits so when my wife gets home I can show her (quickly) the good stuff. While skipping isn't bad, I've never liked the hold FF button for this. Now if it...
