I have used DirecTV Now at home on my Apple TVs, on my iPad and phone via cellular, on my Apple TV in my office, and at my mom's house when I have visited and never had any issues and they all have different IPs. That said there shouldn't be any issues with RSN or local channels because they are...

Unfortunately as signals become more demanding that is no longer true. For 1080p or below, almost any cable will work but when you start trying to pass 4K60 HDR signals, the cable quality matters a lot more. I had to replace a few 18Gbps Amazon cables because I would get blanking when sending...

I use Philips Hue strips with two extensions behind mine. The flexibility of changing the colors to whatever I want as well as varying color temperatures of white is nice.

Nevermind, I saw you have another thread about the issue where you mentioned you tried that method.

Awesome, enjoy! I've been extremely pleased with mine.

Ahhh, gotcha, thanks for the clarification!

Haha, nice! I am a big AV nerd and have been bought into 4K for some time and had numerous 4K displays so if I can help answer and questions or provide any advice, please let me know. I'd recommend the LG B7/C7 for the OLED side and the 900E/930E from the LCD side of things. Both technologies...

My two recommendations would be the Nvidia Shield and the Apple TV 4K. The Shield is a little beast and handy if you have a PC with an Nvidia GPU as you can stream your games from another room to it. My current favorite streamer is the Apple TV 4K. Here's my breakdown. Nvidia Shield: Pros...

Was there an update after the latest new GUI update? I am on the new GUI and VOD works fine for me.

My take is that if you are happy with your current set and, as you mentioned, you aren't going to view native 4K content, you may want to stick with your current display. That said, depending on the TV, upscaling on a brighter and higher resolution screen can be quite nice. From my personal...

I would call DTV for sure. Are you getting a specific error message when trying to access the VOD section? You could try this method and see if it helps get it working after 24 hours. On Demand not working

A few have said 20 years but I personally think it may go away sooner than that. While I hope it doesn't I think one of the biggest current limiting factors is monthly data caps, which others have mentioned. The cap being an issue will obviously vary widely depending on use case and people's...

I see you already opted for the mini but I was just going to chime in and mention that I haven't noticed that much of a difference between RVU on my main TV and the client on my other TV. The mini seems a bit quicker but not by much and the performance of the UI seems to vary wildly anyway on...

Oh nice! Looks like they're early on their timeline. Will have to check it out. Your TV indicated it was receiving a HDR signal?

I was considering using my upgrade for the HS17 but now I am no longer seeing it listed on their website in the equipment list. Anyone know why/when it was removed?

It has been a while since I have had a Samsung but they do have that option. It is the "Apply Picture Mode" option. So you agree it should be an option but you find it "ridiculous"? I don't follow. It is a very valuable option for some that have varying sources that output images differently so...

It's been a while since I've had a Samsung and I usually only use one HDMI port but IIRC correctly, they are separate picture profiles but there may be a setting to have changes apply across all.

From my experience, DTV and streaming 4K is roughly the same. I have watched a decent amount of DTV 4K and it is a huge boost over the 1080i brodcasts but I still do occasionally see macro-blocking which I don't see as much with streaming. However, I haven't viewed the same content on both so it...

The app doesn't matter. All he had to do is open any app and then that is considered a different "input" then he disabled the soap opera effect for that "input" since the picture profiles/settings are independent to inputs.
