  1. General DISH™ Discussion
I've been a Dish customer for about four years, with AT120, local channels, a Hopper and a Joey. I just had a generous $30/month courtesy discount expire, and our new bill amount is $141/month. Because of issues with inconsistent employment, our budget is pretty tight for the next six months...

Thanks, I wonder why it's not listed here: https://my.dish.com/perks/free-preview
  3. General DISH™ Discussion
I am certain I did not have MLB Network the past couple years on Dish. Now I just realized I can tune in. I have AT120+, and I have not made any changes to my package. I don't think it's a free preview, because it doesn't show up on the list. Was there a package update I didn't hear about?
  4. General DISH™ Discussion
Holy crap, I didn't know it was a free preview. It seems like I've had the channel for weeks now. I never get any sort of notification of free previews. It seems like I have to seek them out, or just stumble onto them.

What happened to BBC America? I have been watching Star Trek TNG the past few weeks, and now today the Hopper tells me I'm not subscribed. I have AT120+.

Glad it was resolved, thanks. I even got Dish to remove the protection plan with no early termination charge. You would think that paying for a protection plan could give you service in less than a month, but apparently not.
  7. Hopper System Support Forum
Hey, that worked. Not sure why the tech support didn't suggest that, and why I didn't think of it.
  8. Hopper System Support Forum
My Hopper suddenly stopped transmitting audio. Video works normally. I tried multiple channels and DVR recordings. The TV (a Vizio purchased in May) plays audio normally from a gaming device. I have reset the Hopper from the Tools page and updated the software. I have tried the Hopper with the...

I understood that EI's free preview went through today. Well, I was watching A's vs. Rays -- and suddenly it's gone. Both the home and away feeds. I can't check the other game occurring right now, because I'm in White Sox territory.
  10. DIRECTV General Discussion
I was a customer I was a DirecTV subscriber for over twenty years, and I loved it for about 15 of those years. Finally, early this year, I got fed up with the terrible customer support, slow hardware, and disappointing corporate values at AT&T, and I jumped to Dish! Boy, was that a...
  11. General DISH™ Discussion
I like that there's a workaround (OTA or Locast, for example)... ...but not being able to DVR programming is a real problem. That's how I watch most of my programming, and even live sports often calls for pausing or rewinding live TV.
  12. General DISH™ Discussion
DishAnywhere is hit or miss. RSNs are gone, and possibly never coming back. I was told during my subscription call and in mail adverts that I would get RSNs, but it was either an error or a lie. The Hopper 3 is indeed fast and reasonably stable, but unbelievably buggy with a poorly designed...
  13. General DISH™ Discussion
The word "greedy" is being thrown around way too recklessly. Dish wants to keep prices low, and Nexstar has a threshold where they believe they can be profitable. If they can't work out a deal, nobody's really to blame -- sometime business deals just don't work out. If Nexstar is willing to...
  14. General DISH™ Discussion
If I could go back to January, I wouldn't have left DirecTV to move to Dish. I was overpaying for DirecTV, their customer service sucked, and I don't care for AT&T's corporate values. But Dish comes up short in just about every way. Yes, I like the 16 tuners on the Hopper (when it works...

Thanks, that would have been nice to know months ago. I mentioned several times upon subscribing that I was unhappy about not getting WISH or WNDY, but nobody at Dish ever mentioned anything about Locast. The messages on those channels still say nothing about it. Conversely, the newly blacked...

So we lost CBS and FOX in Indianapolis, but I can get them through locast on the Hopper. Is locast new to Dish/Hopper? We've also been missing WNDY and WISH-TV since I subscribed in January, but I've never seen the locast option before now.

But why would it work fine for six months and then just stop? The Joey is wireless. I just can't use apps or on-demand on the Hopper.
  18. Hopper System Support Forum
My AT&T internet is working fine. In fact, that's how I am posting this right now. The Hopper detects the wireless network with a pretty good signal on the Wi-Fi Setup Wizard, but after entering the password, I receive an indication of Router Not Detected. I guarantee I'm entering the wifi...

I hear there's a new Kartoon Channel that supposedly carried on Dish (not to be confused with Cartoon Network). It launched yesterday, but I can't find it. Any help? Genius Brands International to Launch "Kartoon Channel" Digital Network Across Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Comcast, Cox, SelectTV...
  20. General DISH™ Discussion
I'm learning how things work, and I'm not very satisfied by the answers from long-time users. There are features of DTV DVRs that simply worked better, with fewer clicks -- and that's a subjective opinion that cannot be wrong (or right, for that matter). But I'm being told "it's just the way it...
