  1. DIRECTV HD DVR/Receiver Discussion
I've seen that behavior on the past. Sometimes rewinding a few seconds and watching from the buffer makes things better.

Hmm, that's interesting. I've been having similar trouble with my LG RVU tv and my Genie. I kind of gave up trying different things and was waiting for the DIRECTV Ready App in the LG to be updated. After reading your post, I'll try changing the quick start setting and see if that helps things...

Yup... working for me!! Woot! Woot!

I received the same email. New customer... free Sunday ticket... etc. I've been with DIRECTV for 18 years. Sounds too good to be true to me. Hopefully TJNash reports back with good news. :)

It will work with the SWiM8 LNB and SWiM8 external module.

I use TimeMachine to back up my Macs to a Synology Diskstation located in a fire resistant room in my house. The NAS backs up the most important sparsebundle (the one with all our family pictures and home movies) to Amazon Drive Unlimited. Hopefuly I'm covered.

Looks like it could still go either way at this point. Hopefully they end up with RSNW.

Yeah, I noticed that... Didn't seem to affect anything apparently. Anyone know what that was?

Yes, and if it's just sun related, wouldn't it happen twice a year? I don't remember anything like this affecting this many channels all at once. The sun outages I have witnessed at home were very quick; they were over in a minute or less. Doesn't seem like that's the issue here...

I don't know if your problem is a firmware issue or not. However, if you're interested in testing beta firmware for your DIRECTV receivers, check out iamanedgecutter.com

Any RVU capable 4k TV should work as well.

Or use the DECA diagnostic screen on the Genies. To access the screen on the HR34 and HR44, press the GUIDE and RIGHT ARROW buttons on the front panel simultaneously. For the H44 and HR54 press and hold the SELECT button on the remote.

If these new LNBs have a built in DECA, it would almost certainly show up in the DECA test screens. It should be easy to find out that way.

It's all good, Gary. Thanks to the whole team for this great resource you've put together. It just keeps getting better.

  16. DIRECTV General Discussion
Here's a tip for entering channel numbers in that old HR21: Press the INFO button and enter the numbers. For some reason, it seems to take better that way. I have to agree with my colleagues above as well... The Genies (HR44 and up) are nice, responsive units. You should be pleased with those...

Interesting... Looks like DIRECTV didn't ask for equity in their final offer. Just too much advertizing??? http://blogs.mercurynews.com/collegesports/2015/09/14/the-directv-miss-and-the-future-of-the-pac-12-networks/ Now, Wilner says they need an equity partner... He's probably right on that one.

    Oh man... So disappointing.
  19. DIRECTV Programming
That's probably a bit over the top, don't you think? There's no reason it can't happen tomorrow or Saturday or even next week, especially if it's a complicated deal. I'm not going to uncross my fingers yet...

I really hope it's just DIRECTV engineers toying with us.
