I had the same thing in Chesapeake VA (a bit North and East of Raleigh. Lost he local spot beam ~ 1600 and again at 2300 yesterday. Did not take any readings of signal strength.
Either way is fine...once I broike the code it is fine. Agree that single button "PIP on/off" would be a plus. But all things considerewd it is a great feature and worth the $$ for the new box.

Had NBC (chnl 10) (WAVY) dropping in and out during the SuperBowl yesterday. Confirmed with a buddy to rulle my system out. OTA was solid as was the SD broadcast. Most noticable during the 2nd QTR and was fixed within about 10-15 Mins.
I am over in Great Bridge and I use a set of rabbit ears set up behind the TV direct to the TV not via the D* box. I use it as a backup during rainfade and on second TV for sporting events
I get decent reception
