Once your appointment is created, you can call in to ask for a sooner appointment. The agent will create a field service request (FSR) and send it to the HSP's dispatch and operations team to try to pull it ahead. For anyone reading this who is having their roof redone, do not ask your roofer...

Those rules aren't new as much as they're being much more strictly followed now. If an ODU is located where it isn't accessible from a ladder, a fall protection harness is required. Nothing different from how things work today..

I wouldn't buy a new piece of electronics without the premier plan. When asked if I want an extended warranty, I always get to say no without hesitation. Everything I've ever made a claim on has been resulted in an upgraded piece of equipment, and the claim process has always been smooth.
  4. DIRECTV Tips and Resources
I wouldn't bother spending any large sums on it if you do end up finding parts. With MPEG2 SD being shuttered by 2019, it'll be a pretty brown brick before too long anyhow.

IIRC there's a C61K-W coming too eventually.. Let the confusion commence

Looks like the new system (or at least one version of it) will be made by Technicolor.

As of 08/01/2016: HR34-700 is non recoverable, C31-700 is non recoverable.

I'd also recommend against setting up any installation that involves a retailer like Smart Circle. Their installation quality is infamous. See the shame thread  If you're looking to get set up, shoot me a PM. I have a sales channel that gets you a D* installer, and a $100 gift card (visa...

Actually, as of yesterday they will no longer recover HR34s or C31s either :p
  10. DIRECTV HD DVR/Receiver Discussion
The purpose of connecting the DECA to an RVU TV is to isolate the traffic, and to create a standard installation configuration. Training thousands of technicians to troubleshoot thousands of pieces of networking gear (and configurations) isn't practical.

This is the most bazaar aggregation bot I've ever seen

  13. DIRECTV Installation/MDU Discussion
A lot of people (including technicians) don't realize that the outer edge of the reflector is structural to the parabolic properties and focal points of the ODU. Just one little tweak can make it completely useless. Falling roof bits could definitely do that to it
  14. DIRECTV Installation/MDU Discussion
As I've been inundated with this information for the past month (corporate communication being what it is)... I don't like saying this, but harsh is correct. The only chargeable pole mount is one that is not for (due to either customer preference or LOS) a KaKu ODU. According to the revised SOW...
  15. Miscellaneous Equipment
When I was a service technician I rolled several service calls where the issue was remote control related. A couple of them followed new installations, where the DIRECTV remote wouldn't control the TV because the TV predated remote controls

This is an owned unit. It will require a new access card from DIRECTV ($20). RID# provided upon request for verification. It comes with an RC65RX remote, a power cord, and a 6 foot HDMI cable. $125, shipping included. Paypal only please.
  19. DIRECTV General Discussion
I'd recommend trying a component video connection, which would require Directv's 10-pin component cable.

I'm a fan of carrying The Blaze as an alacarte option, like the newly launched DogTV. Being a fan of The Blaze, I'd certainly pay an extra $5 or $8 to have it as a sub option.
