Except what happened is most likely that he called in to get the broken receivers replaced and wanted an upgrade and not a model for model replacement, then got pissy that there were strings attached.

And even then the quality would still not be any higher then 1080i lol.

^. Dish doesnt consider customers who keep asking for/getting credits great customers ;)

You also asked about the welcom pack line up before the negotiations last year. There not being apologists there just pointing out common sense. AMC was removed from the entirety of Dish Network and as such from the welcome pack too, and was replaced with HDnet temporarily. When it came back to...

With that size you will definitely see a difference. How ever the difference isnt that bad. As said earlier its not like your comparing VHS to DVD, but rather DVDHD to Blu ray. There both great formats but Dtv definitely has the edge, albeit slight. Having owned both I would recommend going...

IIRC he had a DVR model that was not getting a DVR fee in the past, recently (i.e. 1 or 2 years ago) Dish added that DVR to the list of receivers that are charged correctly for there features. Dish then gave out credits to all of the customers affected by this change for a full year to offset...

Yes because clearly Dish invented DVR fees and is the only company to use them.

PIN and other account verification criteria have been mandatory on all accounts for several years now, in addition to that when a customer calls in before an Agent can disclose any account specific details or make any changes the customer has to confirm there name, pin (or last 4 of SSN of the...

If you do call in to dish regarding this do not, i repeat do not tell them it broke because of something you did lol. It will void any chance you had at getting a free one sent out ;)

^Opinion. I worked there too and its just as bad as any other place I've worked. Stupid people calling in constantly surely does suck but they cant be avoided at most work places :P

Did you take into account additional fees/price increase? I.e. receiver fees, locals and junk like that? I recall sometimes some annual members would only pay the price of the programming and forget to account for the rest of the stuff and it stayed as a recurring charge monthly.

Unless there were recent changes the CSR you chatted with was mistaken. They never want the remote back lol.

You seem to forget that adding subs =/= profit.

^They probably dont have your correct email on file. Its pretty easy to get it added though it wouldnt take anymore then 5 minutes either by calling or chatting online.

Dish already does this with pin numbers and secret questions/answer, the customer has to confirm certain pieces of information along with the code before the CSR is allowed to give out certain information about the account. Its up to the CSR to enforce it though, thats why I mentioned that its...

They dont have that option, the second the call ends the next customer in the queue is patched into the line. The way the CSR should be starting the conversation should also be putting the customer in the position where they reveal who they are as well, to prevent the CSR from giving away...

Trial and Error. Imagine a call center somewhere and the CSR's have a list of a bunch of names and phone numbers. They call in to a companies phone support system and dial in phone numbers, if they got a correct number the IVR will confirm it usually, like it saying "HEY! Your one of our top...

They do a lot actually. Those people also call Dish call centers trying to phish customer information from CSR's as well. All information from these scam artists is kept, flagged , processed and reported to the proper authorities.

Its not a glitch. Its intended this is one of the first things that the CSR training classes teach because they want to make sure the CSR's make it very clear that updating CC info with a balance on the account will charge the CC. It will only be "fixed" if Dish changes its policy on the...
