Guy1: "My friend just bought a KIA for $19K" Guy2: "Wow, that's a lot. I just got a Hyundai for $15K" Guy1: "They have a used Yugo at this dealer for $1K" Guy3: "Hey guys have you heard. There's this car called a Ferrari and they want $250K for it" Guy1: "What a rip off" Guy2: "They're crazy...

????? This is what I do for a living, I think I would know. But don't take my word for it, read it for yourself: The Yamaha: read page 70 of the manual. Right in the middle (left side) where it tells you analog connections have to be made for zone 2 to work. The Pioneer: read page 31 of the...

Already answered in my post above (#10) NO AVR on the market these days, will allow you to use zone 2 without an analog audio connection. Only the top models ($2K+) have this feature anymore (and even some of those don't). Example: Even Pioneer's top of the line Elite SC-68, does not allow this...

Yes. This is one of the features that has been stripped out of most every AV receiver. All but the top-of-the-line models now require an analog connection if you want zone 2 to work.

Let me warn you. I have installed a few Sherwood Newcastle's. The ones made in the last few years are Junk! Capitol J there. Not the same as they were many years ago. I also will recommend using a DVDO for your video scaling, if you really need it. The scaler built into most AVR's are no better...

OK. What you are seeing is the gimick of higher refresh rates (i.e. 120Hz, 240Hz, etc...) that causes this in a lot of brands. LG calls it TruMotion and on your TV it's 120Hz. Go into you menu: Settings - PICTURE - Picture Mode - Picture Options - TruMotion. In that menu, turn everything off or...

1st: Need a model number for the TV or we have no idea what we're dealing with. This is always one of the most important pieces of info to give (and not to bash you) but I can't understand people that get on a forum board, ask generic questions with no specific information, and actually expect...

Question: Were you buying factory lamps or aftermarket? The reason I ask is, factory lamps are expensive but usually give you the amount of hours they're suppose to (although sometimes one can fail early too). Those really cheap lamps you find on the internet (like 1/5th the cost of the...

Mixed feelings. You can get a good unit, that will last you many years. I've seen refurb units that did quite well. You can also get a nightmare! I've seen units die just after the 90 days was up. I've also seen units that had strange issues and the manufacture would do anything about it...

Trick question kind of. If all the devices are in the same room and being controlled by the same system; then NO, Harmony can't do that. You need a control system that uses a controller with IR routing. Meaning it can direct the commands sent from the handheld to a base controller, that then...

That is comical. Although it is possible to get lucky and get in touch with someone there who is an enthusiast and might actually know what they're doing or talking about; that is a rare bird and certainly against the odds! You're probably better off getting tech support from a gardener. I'm...

    1) Sound quality is a VERY subjective term here. To put in prospective, there is not (or ever has been) a 'wireless' speaker that I would put in my youngest kid's room. They just sound crappy (battery powered, you can't possibly be getting more than a few watts RMS from the amps in the speaker)...

Wow, that is a pretty backwoods cable provider. I would guess then thier channel lineup probably isn't that great? And it makes more sense now about the filter traps on the cable lines, to tier the packages. Very 90's  I'm sure you will be happy with the new Joey/Hopper setup. Everyone...

Yeah, something doesn't add up. You say you need a box that handles analog and digital cable. But then you say your cable company doesn't have cable cards or boxes. Well obviously both can NOT be true. If there is digital cable service available, then they ARE providing cable cards/boxes. There...

The dealer who sampled that generator, never said what brand it was. I too have not had a lot of expereince with them and found it disturbing the amount of people that were having major issues with generators recently. I remember many years ago having a customer have major problems with one and...

And if you believe that, I have some beach front property in Mexico I'll sell you cheap. Seriously, there are not to many products on the market these days, that doesn't have lies or stretches of truths to the marketing. Even the link I supplied above: although great product, some of their...

Over on a professionals forum board, this was actually discussed in the last few days. One of the dealers posted pics from his oscilloscope, that he had taken from (what was suppose to be) a high quality generator. It was unbeliveable how bad the power was from that generator. The oscilloscope's...

And there is yet another issue you have. You are not getting 5.1 surround sound, even thou everything you have is capable of doing it. It just isn't hooked up correctly to do it. You need to hookup the digital audio outputs from your sources to the Sony amp's digital audio inputs. I won't even...

If the price is not an issue, and the effort will not be a problem and doable, and there is room for you Sony amp to go with the other source equipment (Sat box & DVD); then yes... rewire and move that Sony amp to the other equipment. That is the 1st thing you should do. Having an A/B box in...
