I have SWM 8 channel. I have a genie on there and 2 HR44. I also have a wireless cw41. Do I need a bigger SWM? Haven't had any issues until I took the update on the genie last night.

    Any advice?

    Problem Communicating w/ Dish
Too many receivers or tuners are connected to
    the SWiM.

Well -if you have a Genie (hr44) and 2 HR24 --That equals 9 tuners
    If you have a HR-54 and 2 Hr24 that equals 11 tuners

You need a RB LNB that supports 21 +1 Guide Channels --

Please double-check and verify all of your box model numbers.

Thanks for having me check dog. You are correct, here's what I have. 1 HR-44 and 2 HR-24

So according to my math, my 8 Channel SWM is one channel short for that many tuners.? I unhooked one HR 24, the error message went away on the genie.

So, I'm guessing I need a new SWM distribution. Which one do you guys recommend?

As Mystery Man suggested get rid of the SWM-8 and get a reverse band LNB That will give you 21 tuners

Until you get the upgrade go into the sat setup of one of the HR24 and you can change it to use one sat instead of two so it’ll be a one channel DVR instead of two temporarily. Then switch it back after you upgrade your equipment.

Honestly, I like this idea the best. Buy me some time to figure out what to buy.

    Thanks!

So, dumb question. I understand replacing the LNB with a RB LNB. But, if I get rid of the SWM 8 then what do I hook the 3 different coax lines too?

I still need to have the 3 coax that go into the house hooked to something. You mentioned the get rid of my SWiM 8. What do I replace it with? BTW, I currently have the SL3 LNB so I am running single wire to the SWiM 8.

Thanks for the help BTW, I would rather fix it myself than deal with DirecTv call center.

If there are only three cables, a four-way DIRECTV MRV splitter (MSPLIT4R1-03) would be sufficient. No use sending >5/8ths of the signal nowhere.
