Issue: After selecting "Caller ID & Msgs" and then "Edit Settings" when there is at least one new message, the BLUE ENVELOPE ICON on the screen does not have enough contrast with the background.

Description: See above and picture attached.

Note: Pic is from HR20-700 but is same low-contrast blue envelope icon on HR20-100 and HR21-700.

Issue: None of the video file types I tried to play would work in Media Share, and this resulted in the Live Buffer locking up.

Description: Tried to play WMV, AVI, and MPEG, but to no success. Screen would go black, but pressing PLAY to see the progress bar revealed the "current position" in the bar was at the extreme right end, but the time above that was incorrect. (Ex: A 25 minute video had the "current" position at the right edge, but the time above the bar showed 40 minutes. Pressing FFW only incremented the time without actually showing any video.)

In addition, exiting Media Share would not return live TV except by keying in a channel number. The channel would show live video, but the INFO BANNER still showed the name of the video tried in Media Share, as did the Progress Bar. There was no live buffer. Trick play had no effect. Same was true for any other channel tuned to.

Trying to play from the Playlist would play the proper video from the playlist and properly update the progress bar and info banner, but exiting to live TV again would not show live TV, and again showed the media share video name in the info banner and progress bar.

    Only a RBR resolved this.

Wife's report - Box froze up and the record light is on. I went to check it out and was able to change channels. I went to the list but nothing was being recorded. RBR cleared the record light.

Continuing my VOD test, the program I had d/l'd still played fine tonight. I decided to replicate yesterday when I had to reboot to see what happened, so I did a menu reset. Upon completion of reboot, the saved VOD program would not work anymore.

I decided to compare the ota signals on my tv and the am21 and the am21 is definitely doing something to amplify the signal (maybe in decoding) - volume is louder on the am21 and I was trying to figure out if the audio drops were the result of the signal from the antenna breaking up or the am21. Not sure, but I believe that whatever the am21 does to process the signal, may not compensate well for ever so slight multipath/interference issues.

Unless you're using analog outputs, that's not possible.

I'm using hdmi to connect the HR21 and there is a very noticeable difference in the audio levels when switching between OTA on the TV and OTA via the AM21 and comparing the same OTA channel. OTA via the AM21 is "louder".

This is quite interesting to me. I wish I could test it, but I am HDMI challenged, and use coax SPDIF from the AM/HR. Well, actually use it on both my HR20's, too.

Well that's using your TV's internal speaker, so I can believe that.

Right, running everything through the same speakers on the tv and doesn't matter wether I have dolby on or off. Just thought I'd throw it out there. I actually expect some differences as the HR21 has to process the signal before it passes it to the TV.

A Series Link recording for Nip/Tuck on FXHD did not record. The History says "This episode was canceled because of an unexpected error. (19/0/)". It successfully picked up the next showing of the episode right after the first one. I had another Series Link recording set to start at the same time as the failed recording on OTA channel 62-1, which worked.

Edit: I don't know what I was looking at, but the OTA recording didn't work either. It just says "This showing is over." in the History.

Got the black screen when trying any media share video. The back button got me to the playlist and I could play music and do a menu reset.

I also got a black screen when trying to play a VOD selection which was still downloading. This time I tried changing channels and that worked, so it may only be an issue with the currently-buffered channel.

Issue: Sever weather in the northeast and lost sat input on the background tuner, but the foreground tuner was fine. Could not clear the "Searching for satellite..." message when watching Live TV or when watching a recording from the Playlist.

Suggestion: Add an "OK" option to the "Searching for satellite..." message, so users can choose OK to clear the message and enjoy the tuner still operating or enjoy playback from the playlist without a nuisance reminder on-screen for the length of the rain-fade.
