DirecTV is dropping the ball/puck yet again.

Compare what they are offering with what Dish is offering

    http://www.dishnetwork.com/packages/ppv/sports/hockey/hockeySchedule.aspx

Dish is offering two and in some cases THREE feeds for some playoff games. Come on DirecTV hockey fans need you to be the 'worldwide leader' etc etc etc....

Yes, but while we no longer have MSG HD, E* never had it and there are very few games in HD on E*'s schedule and I anticipate a lot more on D*'s.

Why is Versus HD scrunched right now? It's in HD but not taking up the whole screen.

    Dear Directv,

VSHD is scrunched. This is unacceptable. Please fix ASAP!

Wow, very frustrating to see this. Come on D*. There is way to much of this kind of stuff to be the sports leader. Not to mention their f-up with V's tonight.

Unacceptable. I'm switching between 2 shows (both HD) and switching AR is not acceptable.

Everybody should call Directv so that the problem gets a fast response.

    1-800-531-5000

    I've already called.

Exactly. I shouldn't have to compensate for their error.
    Done.

Its not D*, its the people at VS. We need to call VS to get them to fix it. Anyone know a number to get a hold of them?

I've also called. Switching aspect ratio should not have to be done. Commercials are a bit funny though, double squish.

I am seeing the same on my screen. The broadcast is definitely in HD (16x9) but that 16x9 image is being pillarboxed into 4x3. Thats why everyone looks like they are in stretch-o-vision (tall and thin). Could be the downlink from VS or something at DirecTV.

    Either way, VERY ANNOYING.

EDIT: So I am thinking this is a VS issue. DirecTV just had a local commercial for Extra Innings and that was in full framed 16x9 HD. Going back to the broadcast the HD is being pillar boxed again.

    What a joke.

I look forward to the day I don't want to watch anything on this ridiculous box and save myself the frustration of dealing with the likes of satellite and cable providers ...
