Yes, per Active Channel.
can anyone explain how the fantasy stat tracking works? does it flash up on the screen when one of your players does something big like a sidebar app or do you need to turn to a specific channel and just watch stats?
Just a fyi - I wasn't willing to pay full price for the ticket and to go so I called to cancel. I was offered the $20 x 6 but declined. I did say I would take the ticket for the two months I have already paid due to the auto renewal. They agreed no problem. They stopped future charges for the auto renewal, charged me the one time price of $319.95 for the ticket and immediately posted a credit to counter that. All in all, $120 total for the ticket made me a happy customer.
Call took no longer that 5-10 minutes. Good luck to all and enjoy the season.
SCORE! After trying in July/August twice to get a discount on ST and failed due to already getting max credits (ShowTime for free for yearly gift, HD for Free for 2 years (24 X 11) , and $10X12 for some weird reason), I finally called in today after ShowTime rolled off.
I told them again how I was just laid off (60 day notice yesterday), I got Shanda (sp?) from AL call center. She out of the gate gave me $150 off in a lump sum (and started down other options, so I just listened even though I had just celebrated in my head) as she couldn't give it as a ST credit due to the other credits. I acted dumb and asked if ST included Internet Access to games. She explained it didn't and I asked how much that would cost. She said it normally is 5 payments of $9.99 but she could take $10 off my sports pack for 6 months. I jumped on it.
It's like D* is paying me to watch Sunday Ticket. Now wondering if I should call to get GamePlan discounted!
BTW - Said cancel at the main prompt. When asked to cancel programming or service, I said "Cancel."
16+ year customer here... Never late with a single payment and was turned down flat when I called and asked about the special. Was told that was only for new customers or those who receive the outbound call. CSR said the best deal she could give me was $10.00 off for 6 months and could offer me my choice of movies packages in a 2 for 1 special for 3 months.

I called last week and the rep gave me $100 off the ST in the form of two credits for $49.99. My dad called an he got the $20 off of each monthly payment deal ($120 total). I don't understand why we have to play these games in the first place and why everyone doesn't get the same deal.
Did you speak to a retention CSR? I.e., when you called did you say "cancel service" twice before getting a live person?
Hard to believe a retention CSR would offer a long time customer such as your self with 10 x 6 and some movie channel "Deals." I'm guessing you didn't talk to a retention CSR, especially a female one.
Were you really laid off, or did you say that to help get some sympathy credits?
If you were really laid off, sorry to hear that. If you weren't...nice going.
Both laid off and used it to my advantage especially when I ended up with a female retention agent. 60 days ago I tried the same tactic when my company announced they were closing my division and I got no where (but I had maxed out my credits per the 2nd person I called that day).
Thanks. Things tend to happen for a reason. I'm hoping to land on my feet. I have 8 months severance of full pay after my 60 day notice, so I've got plenty of time to find something.
Just got off the phone with an extremely nice lady in retention. I told her I really wanted NFL ST but I couldn't justify paying more than 2X what I did last year. It didn't auto renew on my account for some reason. That was the reason for my call in the first place. She gave me a $160 one time credit plus a $10 credit for 12 months for being a loyal customer and free showtime for 3 months. I am happy!
Well I calmed down....sort of, but did not call back.
I agree with so many others who have posted the same thing over and over:
1) We should not need to call in and beg, plead, lie, tell stories of why we can't pay $X, etc to get a better deal. Blame the NFL or Directv or both, I don't care. It's way to expensive in the first place. If they'd set a decent price FOR EVERYONE, then we'd all be better off.
2) Dumb decision not to offer an online only plan at a reduced rate. Yes, I know I know...things are different between the MLB and NFL, but the NBA also offers an online plan. In fact, the NBA even allows you to pick a group of teams if you like.
Anyway, I did some "research":
Last year, I watched mostly the RedZone channel when my favorite team (who I'm out of market for) was not playing. Occasionally, yes, I'd flip over and watch a single game, but most of the time I didn't.
This year, my favorite team (Cowboys by the way) plays on National TV (IE: Sunday Night, Monday Night, NFL Network, Thanksgiving) six times. So without paying for this package, I'm already going to see nearly half of their games. Now, depending on the timing, I could also see the Minnesota, Green Bay, New Orleans and Indianapolis games being shown here.
So that's at least 10 games.
The more I think about it, the more I can NOT justify purchasing the package regardless of what offer I would or would not receive.
Not only that, but I'm considering dropping a couple of the movie packages I subscribe to as well.
I guess I don't understand the issue folks have with having to haggle in order to pay less than full price. How is this a new concept? If you want a special deal, you have to work at it.
I don't understand the complaints about the price either. It is the most popular sport in American and obviously enough customers are willing to pay the price to subscribe to Sunday Ticket. Otherwise, they wouldn't charge as much as they do. Clearly this price point is working for DirecTV or they would change it.
It will flash at the bottom of the screen. Doesn't have to be "something big"; you'll see it whenever one of the players you've programmed in does anything, i.e., even a 1-yard run. You can also get the complete stats for all your players at any time via the red button. (Note that these features only work when you're on one of the Sunday Ticket channels in the 700s; they won't work if you're watching a game on local CBS or Fox.)
I'm seriously about to the end of the rope with these clowns. After 4 calls (saying cancel service @ prompt) and being nice about it, this CSR told me there wasn't anything they could do. I told her I was getting tired of the run-around and that hundreds upon hundred of people were offered $20 credit x 6 months. She put me on hold and came back with a 1 time credit of $35. I told her that didn't equal $120. She countered back with $70 credit. Again I told her that wasn't $120. She countered again with $100. This time I was getting a lot more aggressive and told her that I have had Sunday Ticket for 8 years and have never gotten anything kind of deal on it accept for free Super Fan last year (true). She put me on hold again and came back with the $100 credit and Free Showtime for 3 months. I told her I wasn't looking for free Showtime, that I wanted the same deal that many others were getting. She finally agreed to a $120 one time credit. Put me on hold forever and came back and said I would see it on my next bill. I have a bad feeling that I won't actually get it because it doesn't show up in my recent activity online. :bang
You probably won't get it. Bullying seldom works when you are asking someone to help you.
Sorry, but I didn't bully anyone. I've called 3 time previously and was told that since I have the 24 months free HD that they couldn't give me any more credits. I know that is incorrect, because there are many people on here that have those credits as well.
I'm sorry but I refuse to play those kind of games. As a long standing customer, I should not need to threaten DirecTV with canceling my service or telling them some kind of fib in order to get something which should be offered to their long standing customers anyway.
Personally, I couldn't care less about Sunday Ticket. I just wanted the deal on the premier service tier.
How many times do I have to say this: Saying cancel service twice at the automated voice prompts is NOT threatening to cancel service. Just gets you to the retention CSR you want to speak with. And then once you get there, you don't need to lie.
Anyways, since you only want the premier deal on the cheap, and obviously have not gotten a call about it from DirecTV's telemarketer for it, you won't get it. No existing customer besides those actually getting a call from DirecTV is geting the premier/NFLST deal.
I'm not saying that you personally are advocating lying and/or to threaten canceling services but I have read my share of threads over the last 6+ years I have been a member of DBSTalk where someone posts, "I threatened to cancel my service unless they gave me this deal" or "I gave them a phony address in order to get this special".
One should not have to make threats, lie, or even have to speak with a retention CSR. DirecTV should make offers such as these available to all of their subscribers.
I did get a call 3 years ago several weeks after the season had begun (5 or 6 weeks in) asking me if I wanted a special ST deal so while I may not have gotten the call just yet, I can still hold out hope
