The 2014 MLB Extra Innings will be the best package ever. Fox Saturday Game Of The Week will be in the package for the first time. I just hope that WICU Cubs and Whitesoxs games are in the package and then we will truly get every game everyday. Lets hope so!

I signed back up with D* this July and did not order Xtra innings package because I already have mlbtv but I'am curious as to how much is the early bird pricing for mlb xtra innings will be more or less for 2014.

I look forward to better picture quality if the price is right, although mlbtv is a bargain for $125 for the season.

I also wish if you order mlb xtra inning that mlbtv comes included, now that would be sweet.

Hopefully, MLB EI becomes likes NBA TV and that MLB TV is included if you order EI. There has been some speculation about that.

There are still some feeds that are not included in Extra Innings, and there are issues like Sunday night games in Texas. But next year the package will be the best it has ever been.

Has the contract been renewed for MLB EI on DirecTV? This year (2013) is the last under the previous contract IIRC.

Another questtion is whether or not DTV picks up the new Dodgers channel.

Also: did DTV pretty much eliminate any early bird discount?

Given Los Angeles Dodgers's 2013 MLB season was championship-caliber, I think DirecTV will sign on for a brand-new SportsNet LA.

It will be a fight. DodgersTV will want $5/head for subscribers in the L.A. area from DTV.

True, however two big diffrences between this network and the one for the Dodgers is the fact the Dodgers have a good team and the Astros don't. The second and even more important difference is the fan base. Either way I'm not worried I have MLB.TV in addition to MLB Extra innings, so I won't miss any games.

Also the Dodgers team area is smaller then the CSN Huston one.

also how willing will DodgersTV be to being put into sports pack for outer ring areas?

I suspect that may or may not be part of why the Lakers channel took so long to get added. I suspect that is something that may be considered. A lot of deals lately have resulted in Sports Pack for outer rings or some for of higher package depending on which company you receive your channels through.
