This weekend the golf and tennis tournaments are overlapping, taking up 12 of the part time feeds that would usually be used for things like bonus feeds for Extra Innings (the extra mix channel for Golf is actually taking up 2 of those feeds, while the French Open Mix just uses the SportsMix), along with ESPN Bases Loaded which takes up another part time feed.

It also doesn't help that a lot of the Blue Jays games have been pushed to SportsNet One since the main SportsNet channels share the Canadian NBA playoff rights, in addition to playoff NHL games. DirecTV usually only uses SportsNet One's feeds when it's the only option available. Previously TSN would help pick up the slack for the NBA with their 5 channels, but since the Raptors are in the playoffs, they're producing the Raptors games locally and simulcasting them on the 4 regional TSN channels, SportsNet had to pick up more of the other NBA playoff games. Because of the way CRTC licensing works, only your local regional TSN and SportsNet channel can be offered in the main package, along with SportsNet 360 since it's using the license for The Score, everything else must be in a higher digital only tier, so major events carried by TSN or SportsNet get simulcasted on all their regional feeds.

Bummer, only 5 games still being played and apparently there's still not enough room for either the home or away feed of the Braves/Dodgers game.

I don't know what is going with the MLB Extra Inning Channels but I just see the DirecTV Logo no those channels. In order to watch the game you have to go to RSN ch's to view the game. I believe it doesn't have anything to do with space because DTv just remapps the RSN channels to the MLB Extra Innings Channels. I just think DTV messed up.

I agree ...the mix channel shows the padres feed and the channel it is supposed to be on but no Braves/Dodgers/Padres/Rockies feeds anywhere but on the RSNs (so no dodger feed at all except on MLB.tv ... still a great add to the extra innings package even if they didn't make these mistakes ever.

I figured something must be screwed up because of the games that were missing, and as far as I know, there's nothing else going on tonight that would have used the available slots.

Can that be done for those who do not subscribe to the Sports Pack? I do and I usually end up watching games on the RSN channel, except for Dodgers games, of course. A big plus there is I don't have to hunt for what channel is carrying what game, except being a Cubs fan I do need to search on the nights WGN, WLS or WPWR are carrying games. It's a small inconvenience for actually getting to see those games through the Cubs broadcast.
That Dodgers games still are not put on the Mix channel, even through the other team's feed, is absolutely ridiculous.

Yes, even if you don't have the sports pack you can still watch the games on the RSN. DTV will open up those channels just for the live games, once the game is over DTV will turn off the channel.

Is everyone else missing video for the games on the mix channel today? The tiles are there with updated scores but no game video.

Aspect ratio now displays correctly on tablets. No more vertically stretched picture. I'm still surprised nobody else on these forums was aware of it.

Arrieta loses again - 4 runs allowed in 5 innings. Are the Cubs finally starting to sink?

    Hi, the2130.

Your question is a good one, but not here.

I recorded the Cubs - Mets game and saw your post before I saw the game.

Shame on me for checking this board before watching, but, in the future, there are 8,000,000,123 other places for you - or anyone - to talk about daily results.

    Cheers,
    cmasia

I have been a DirecTV customer for the past 3 years and a half. My contract was up since last April and I wanted to lower down my bill. Nobody was helping so I threatened to go to DIsh and the best they did was 20 off for a year. This year I wanted to see if I wanted to see what I can get this year around and man oh man I hit the jackpot this year. OK before I tell you, mind you I have 3 HDTVs with the Genie Whole Home DVR with the XTRA Package and the HR44.
I called in to get the MLB Extra Innings and they told me I can get a $100 off coupon so I could get the EI for only 80 dollars or so for the season. I accepted it and a few days went by and I wanted more. I called in and the rep offered 4 months of Starz movie channels plus $70 dollars off for 12 months [IMG]. I received the bill for the last 2 months being exactly 69.21 cents. I called again last week to see if there was any deals and they offered an additional $25 off for 12 months but I had to sign a contract but declined cause I hate them so I got the $70 off with no commitment. Guys, I don't know what to tell you but next time you try to get deals hopefully you get my jackpot. The key of getting the deals is to act calm and be friendly with the rep. TRUST ME!!
Now if you can excuse me, I'm gonna enjoy my DirecTV on my sexy 55 inch Samsung TV.
    Good Luck Guys [IMG]:)

Looks like Directv messed up tonight. It's blacking out the Cleveland vs. KC game tonight on Extra Innings.Good thing I can get MLB.TV on my Roku or I'd be furious.

    Hmm.
I'm in Columbus, Ohio and have never had a game blacked out incorrectly on DirecTV (its idiotic blackouts of the Pirates on Root Sports Pittsburgh not included). Have seen it happen way more often with cable since headends can cross blackout lines and don't go by zip codes.

these single teams' out-of-market games i guess are not going to happen after all this year.

Was hoping it would, at least on MLB.TV. I can see the vast majority of Cubs games but given that the Reds and Pirates claim my area, I am blacked out of the Cubs feed close to a quarter of the season, and unless a Cubs-Pirates game is on national TV I am completely in the dark for those games. Wonder why the "Follow Your Team" option fell through?
Hopefully, the teams televised on Comcast and Root networks will stream in-market next year. I am not sure if that will help me with the Pirates in Columbus, however, since I can only get Root via SportsPack.

I've had EI here in Atlanta the past two seasons and have never had to miss a Cardinals game. I do have to watch the Braves telecast whenever they are playing the Cardinals.
