Is anyone else having problems accessing MLB.TV archived games with a subscription linked through DirecTV? Some archives play fine, but others give errors indicating that I need a valid subscription to view the game. So far I haven't seen this problem with live feeds.

I remember this being a problem two years ago when the bundling of MLB.TV and MLB EI began, but I don't recall this happening last year.

    MLB Extra Innings Las Vegas

Now getting free preview here in Las Vegas, but it appears Dodgers local broadcasts and Diamondbacks broadcasts will not be available here. I have xtra package but do not have the sports pack so I am not subscribed to Fox Sports Arizona. I am assuming that's why I don't get the Diamondback games on MLB EI. I was able to watch the Dodgers on San Diego channel, but not the Dodgers feed even though it was listed as available in the guide (when tuning it said it was not available). When tuning to Diamondbacks home game it said I was not subscribed. I do know that both the Diamondbacks and Dodgers claim Las Vegas as home team markets and according MLB-TV those games would be blacked out in Las Vegas.

I called DirecTV, and CSR said I should be able to get both feeds on MLB EI, but couldn't tell me why I was unable to get them on the free preview. I would consider getting the MLB EI package if I was able to receive Dodgers local broadcasts (want to hear Vin one last time) and Diamondbacks games.

Does anyone know if these teams are available in Las Vegas with the just the MLV EI package (and no subscription to sports pack) ??? Any info would be helpful - Thanks.

I've been watching on Dish during the free week. MLBTV has a crisper image but what I've found this year on live feeds I'm seeing more buffering. I have no bandwidth issue at 20 megabits, its on the MLBTV side. I can stream multiple HD movies no issues at all and previous days game I can stream no buffering so it has something to do with the live stream getting bottlenecked.

Your current package can get you the Angels (FS West), Padres (FS San Diego), Giants (CSN Bay Area) and Athletics (CSN California).

The only way to get the Diamondbacks (FS Arizona) in Vegas is to get the Sports Pack. Getting MLB Extra Innings doesn't bypass this requirement.

MLB Extra Innings will also not let you get the Dodgers (SportsNet LA) in Vegas.

With Fox Sports Go you can get in market streaming of the teams on Fox owned RSNs, so for you that would be the Angels, Padres, and if you add the Sports Pack, the Diamondbacks. Comcast/NBCU didn't sign a deal with MLB for the in market streaming so teams on Comcast SportsNet like the Giants and Athletics are not available via NBC Sports Live Extra like the NBA teams are.

Thanks. That's exactly what I thought. No way I,m going to pay $14/mo just for diamondback games. So I guess I'll just skip MLB - EI package for now....

The MLB.TV picture is elongated (squished horizontally) when I watch on either of my tablets. There doesn't seem to be any way to adjust it. Anyone else seeing this?

You should start one in the "Sports Programming and Events" forum, because no one wants any spoilers in here.

You can get a VPN, pick any non LA market and stream it via MLB.TV.

I can't speak to the previous poster's worries about legality, but this is definitely against the MLB.TV terms of service.

Like last year, it appears that GameMix is still available after the free preview even without an EI subscription. :righton:

(No, simply talking about it here won't make them take it away. At least, it didn't last season...)

Speaking of the Game Mix, has anyone noticed Dodger games are never included on it? What's the rationale here?

DirecTV doesn't carry the channel as part of their lineup? More clearly, the Mix channel is not an MLB-EI feature so the channel wouldn't be seen there as DirecTV has no contract/no rights to air the channel in that fashion.

Well, it only took three weeks and about ten calls but I FINALLY got a retention CSR to man up and give me a half credit on the EI package. ended up paying the one time 174 and he gave me a 87 credit so I got it for 87. very happy with that. after three weeks of constantly getting told there's nothing because of credits I get, I finally got someone to do something. thanks Rio in retention. and for the record, no credits have come off my account in the last month. now I can enjoy EI for another season.
