I went through this last week. Finally found a rep. who did some looking and informed me that the MLB.TV part of EI will not start until April 1st.

I recall something along those lines. As I remember, if you purchase the post-season MLB.tv package it includes the next season's spring training. Also, unless I haven't looked in the right place, MLB.tv doesn't even sell a spring training only package, it's included in the regular MLB.tv yearly subscription. Being that DirecTV provides MLB.tv as an add-on for MLB-EI it may be restricted to regular season games only, maybe because DirecTV doesn't activate their MLB-EI subscriptions until the first day of the season, resulting in any MLB.tv add-on being inactive until then.

In other words, DirecTV's MLB.tv add-on doesn't include Spring Training, you have to buy the post-season MLB.tv package to see ST games for the following season.

I'm guessing that's how it works anyway.

    Couple of notes:
    1) I did see some sort of $30-odd plan for MLB.TV ST and the WBC games.
    2) The last two years they allowed activation of MLB.TV in the middle of March. It may change this year if they are trying to collect some extra dollars for the WBC games. Keep an eye out on this thread: once they open it up you'll see some posts.

I just looked and the WBC games seem to only be available with the full season package. In fact, there's only Yearly, Monthly and Single Team available for purchase. Unless there's a listing somewhere else that I haven't seen.

Watch Live Baseball Online, Stream MLB Games with MLB.TV

I believe you're right about MLB.tv games being available during ST last year as well.

    Isn't ESPN streaming all WBC?

Although my Directv account showed I was already subscribed to EI (auto renewal from last year), I signed up for EI over the phone like I was a new customer. MLB.tv started working for me a few hours later. Will have to see if it continues.

Wbc games can be streamed using your directv login information, ie tv everywhere.

Might be a coincidence, but I called in this morning to check for any discounts with the MLB EI renewal (got a small non-related amount) and told them to confirm the 2017 purchase. A few hours later MLB.TV started working on my devices.

After trying for days, MLB.TV is now working for me. I didn't even have to authenticate it!

Pretty absurd that activation still isn't enabled. It's a DTV issue all the way.

Just called to see if any discounts are available to me for MLB EI. I have a couple of other active discounts, so no deal this year. I am now debating whether or not just to go with MLB.TV and bypass the extra cost for MLB EI.

That's my point, they are billing us on the TV side but not allowing authentication.
