You likely are receiving the Reds game as part of free preview of Extra Innings. Only time will tell after the free preview.

It's possible he was getting the Reds broadcast as part of EI, but probably not. Usually only the feed being remapped into EI is clear for an out-of-market game. For example, if both FSN Southwest and FSN Oklahoma are carrying a Rangers game, only the feed being remapped into EI (more than likely FSSW on 676) will be clear to all out-of-market subscribers. FSN Oklahoma would (should) be blacked out everywhere beyond the Rangers' home territory.
I've noticed this several times when CSN Chicago joins a Cubs or Sox game on their main channel that's already being shown on the alternate at 665-1. 665 goes to black beyond its home market because 665-1 is the EI feed.

Anybody else noticing this oddity today? EI is carrying the WGN feed of Pirates-Cubs (which I have to watch on the Mix Channel here in central Ohio), but it's definitely not the actual WGN9 feed seen in Chicagoland. All of the commercials are PSAs or Cubs-related commercials, not the normal commercials or WGN promos. I don't remember ever seeing this particular feed.
Last Sunday during Cubs-Brewers, the WGN feed was the actual WGN9.

I don't want to jinx it but the MLB Mix channel still works for more even though I don't have the package.

Just got a new Samsung S8 plus. EI does not play on it. MLB said it is not a approved phone. Anyone else have this problem?

Sounds crazy. Works fine on my S8 and they both have the same resolution.

Thanks for your reply. I called back and got an agent that was a lot better than the first one I talked to. She had me remove and install the "at Bat " app and now it works. I would still be waiting for it to be approved if you did not post. Thanks again.

If it doesn't work on your device, then your device is not supported. If it works, then you are using a supported device. Just kidding, but that's about what you can expect when you call any phone support line. When I first got a Samsung smartphone a couple of years ago, there was a bug in the SNote app that caused it to use up all of the storage on the phone over a couple of months of use, even with just a few pages of notes. The answer from the Samsung rep I spoke to: I was having the problem because I was using the app.

Does the picture fill up the entire screen? On my phone it does not fill up the full screen. It leaves about a half inch blank.

The S8 has a 18.5:9 aspect ratio, so 16:9 video will not fill up the entire screen unless there's an option to stretch or crop.

Have the Samsung KU6300 and when I'm trying to watch the MLB Extra Innings Game Mix (multiple games on one channel) channel on DirecTV, sometimes the picture in individual games will stutter just for a few seconds before straightening out. Almost like it can't process the images fast enough. Is this something that's a TV/setting thing or a DirecTV thing? I don't think I had this problem on my (much) older 720p TV.

We're going off topic here, but the S8 is an absolutely fabulous device. I moved from an S7 Edge and I don't regret it one bit.

When/will Directv lower their full price for the Extra Innings package? The season is inching toward the half-way point and they are still charging the full rate for the season package as they did on the first day of the season. Thanks.

DirecTV strikes again with the Pirates blackouts here in Columbus. Only this time, the MLB on Fox broadcast of Pirates-Cubs is blacked out on EI. I can watch the game on MLB.TV, and in fact am doing so right now. But we are getting Tigers-Indians on our local Fox affiliate, so logically, Pirates-Cubs and Royals-Dodgers should both be in the clear. The latter is, the former is not.
DirecTV's blackouts of Pirates games on Root Sports around here for the past four-plus season have been idiotic enough. This blackout tonight is even dumber.

    Hi Schmave1.

Not sure if your issue is the same, but in Vegas we've had a game blacked out most Saturdays.
The reason, from what I've heard... FOX assigns a game to my affiliate and sets up the appropriate blackout on the EI channel.
My affiliate then decides to take another game, and the word never gets back, so the original assigned game never appears o the EI channel.

Did not happen today, as KVVU was assigned, and is showing Royals v Dodgers.

I don't think that's the same case here. We almost had to be given Tigers-Indians from the start, considering the Indians and Reds always get priority here over the Pirates if there is a conflict. It is much the same as during football season when the Bengals and Browns always get priority ahead of the Steelers. On MLB.TV and At Bat, the game was on from the start.
I will add that I got a pleasant surprise a few minutes ago. I finally figured out how to activate my DirecTV account with Root Sports' in-market streaming of the Pirates ... and it's in the clear. I can't believe I am not blacked out of that, honestly, and hope it isn't a glitch. The rub is that my Cubs have yet to show up today ...
