Just called. Was told EI package is $28.99 for six months or single payment of $173.99 ($1.25 more than last year). Asked for discount. Was offered $50.00 off for 12 months. Took that deal along with 6 payments. Bought up the point that I was a ST Max subscriber and was real disappointed with NFL and didn't watch a lot of games, but did nothing about getting any kind of refund. So good luck and let the games begin. LOL.

This was just copied from my account online.

With MLB.TV being $90, when limited to a single team, I really cannot justify paying double just to be able to watch on my D* receivers. The MLB.TV interface is pretty slick and functional on my FireStick, and for nearly $100 difference, I am going to have to drop my EI package.

I have had EI since '00 and will see if D* can bring the price down (or give me discounts to bring the price down), but if they can't match, I will have to drop EI.

If I do end up dropping EI, I am guessing that I will end up cutting the cord w/in a year.

There is one thing you might be forgetting. With MLB.TV you are not going to get your in market team/teams. They will be Blacked Out on MLB.TV. With DIRECTV you will get your in market team via your regional RSN. That is why I keep DIRECTV. They got you where if you want your in market teams you need tv service.

The question is not CANCEL D* and go w/ MLB.TV, but rather CANCEL EI and go w/ MLB.TV. At this point, since I intend to keep D*, there should be no change in status of RSN.

Just typed in a few zip codes here to see if blackout restrictions have changed, and when I punched in some western Ohio zip codes (as in the Lima area and a bit south), the Cleveland Indians and Detroit Tigers no longer appear as in-market teams where they have for many years in the past. I wonder if some territories have been modified this year?
Unfortunately in Columbus, we are still counted as Pirates territory despite not getting their games on local cable and having DirecTV black out all Pirates broadcasts on AT&T SportsNet.

I just called and dropped MLB EI after the first payment showed up on my bill (DirecTV gave it to us free for the last month last year). Bill was credited back. I didn't even ask for a discount as I already have a ton of monthly discounts, and want to save some room to get deals later on this year with Sunday Ticket.

MLB.TV has been working for me since the first spring training games started on Friday. I think this is the first time I recall this happening. Normally, it would be much closer to the start of the regular season before MLB.TV games were in the clear and I linked my MLB EI account.

I have been typing in Zip Codes as well from some places in my area. The Cincinnati Reds are not showing up as "In Market" for some towns in my immediate area as they always use to be. But for my area they remain. And last year at midway point through the season, the St. Louis Cardinals all of a sudden were made "In Market" in my zip code when all throughout the first half of the season last year I was blacked out from both home & away feed of any St. Louis Cardinals game that was played.

How long did it take to get the bill credit? I called about a month ago to cancel EI -- was told it was cancelled but I still saw it on my account. Called again and was assured it was cancelled. Got my latest bill and Friday and was nicked for $28.99 (Payment 1 of 6). Called again and told them to cancel and credit that back. They claim it was done -- I no longer see EI under "My Programming," but I have not received a credit. Wondering how long I should wait before I make a stink?

The more I did some research, the more I think some areas are incorrect. For instance, some towns in northwest Ohio near the Indiana line are showing up as being in Cubs, White Sox, Reds, Indians and Tigers territory when Chicago teams have never claimed any of Ohio. Just south of there, Celina, Ohio is not shown as being in Reds territory (and it absolutely is, 100 miles north of Cincinnati in an area where by far the Reds are the most popular team), but one town over, the Reds are shown as being the only local team.

I just checked my Recent Activity on my account- nothing credited. Called this afternoon and the first loyalty CSR was clueless- said I got the credit last September. I said that was for the last month of the 2017 season. I quickly got off the phone with her and called back to Loyalty and got a much better CSR. He saw the issue that I wasn't credited the first 2018 charge of $28.99 which occurred on my 2/19/18 statement. After a couple minutes, he said he took care of it and apologized for the previous CSR's responses.

5 minutes later I got an email from DirecTV indicating a credit of $28.99 (+ tax) was credited to my account. So, if I were you, I would call 800-824-9077 right away.

Thanks for the tip. Just got off the phone and of course the same "problem" was found. I too just received the email stating that a credit has been posted to my account. When I look at the "recent activity" on the website, it is now visible. Jeeez, four phone calls to shut off auto-renew and get my money refunded.

My Recent Activity is now updated showing the credit too. The process is getting more complicated- They must be experiencing high turnover again.

Every year that mlb.tv has been included with EI I've had to call in to mlb.com to 'reset' the account/password after the start of the season, and have never had the preseason games work.

Thought I'd see if it would work this year, but nada just like others have reported. I'll bet I'll be calling a couple days into the season yet again.

Crazy. MLB.TV is still working today for me and has since the spring games started this past Friday. I will chalk this up as pure luck since others have reported it isn't working. Like I said before this is the first time I recall this happening. Normally, it would be much closer to the start of the regular season before MLB.TV games were in the clear and I linked my MLB EI account.

When I called on Saturday to complain that I had been billed for something I'd cancelled, I was hit with a lot of questions that had nothing to do with the situation. Things like "are you maximizing use of your Genie?", "what kind of programming do you like?", "who is your internet service provider?" I had to get a little testy (which isn't my style) and asked for them to FOCUS on the problem at hand. Obviously, the intent was try to sell me something else.

Tried to watch MLB on my Roku today, and was told I was not authorized.

Went here and tried to authenticate:

    MLB.TV - Authentication

Message came up saying they could not authenticate and pointed me back to DirecTV.

Decided to log out and log back in to my MLB.com account to see if that might help.

The Official Site of Major League Baseball

Went back to mlb.tv on my desktop and my Roku, and...

    SUCCESS !

All of today's games - and archived games this Spring - are available.

    Hope this helps.
