I called last Friday the 10th in the morning to the loyalty dept., and had a gal from Tennessee. I'm grandfathered Premier ($0 DVR fee) customer for 20 years come this November. I asked about Red Zone standalone, and she said not available. I also have Sports Pack with Premier, and RedZone was never included in the past. I asked her to cancel auto-renew on STMax, and she went into 'lets see what offers we have' mode.

She came back with $99 off STMax over 6 months, then offered $15 off HBO, $7 off Startz and $10 off Sports Pack, all for 6 months. That brings it down to $104.00 plus 5.1% tax. I thought that was pretty good compared to the recent feedback from others, but I told her I had to talk to my wife before accepting it. She put the offers in the notes on my account for when I call back. She then still cancelled the auto-renew for ST Max. I have a month to decide.

I am still getting credits from the past, here was my July billing....and I am in commitment until May, 2019.

    Save $20 for 12 months (2 of 12)
    Save $30 for 12 months (10 of 12)
    Save $50 for 12 months (8 of 12)

In reality I probably only get around 3mbps. I've had about 20 service visits & day after technician leaves speed drops down. Hopefully I won't have too many issues. A lot of people around my neighborhood have Verizon FIOS. But in our townhomes there might be a lot of people with cable.:(

I just called & still was told nothing for free, but maybe the week before season starts. She did apply the $12.25 discount so right now I'm paying $35 for it with my other discounts before the $60 off for 12 months. No contract. Debating whether to cancel it then after 1st week add it, but greed is a terrible thing.

I noticed under the regular NFL Sunday Ticket that it says -
    NFL SUNDAY TICKET 2018
Get every out-of-market game LIVE, every Sunday afternoon on your TV and experience it all in breathtaking HD. Plus turn your living room into an incredible “sports bar”-like experience with either the 4-Game or 8-Game Mix Channels and track up to 20 players in real-time with the Player Tracker.

    And then..

    NFL SUNDAY TICKET MAX 2018
Upgrade to NFL SUNDAY TICKET MAX and get every NFL SUNDAY TICKET game on your computer, tablet, and phone—in addition to every game every Sunday on your TV. Plus, you also get The RED ZONE CHANNEL®, Player Tracker, Short Cuts, real-time stats, and more.

Does this mean that the regular NFLST won't have streaming on the computer/mobile device this year? I know it did last year..

I wouldn't be shocked if streaming is now being pushed to Max just to make it's mere existence more justified. Without streaming then Max offers very little outside of Red Zone.

I think streaming in home (on home network) is different than out of home streaming to a device. AFAIK, streaming out of home in the past required STMax. I never had regular ST (without Max) when streaming became available so I cannot verify that information......

Talked with customer loyalty today over my bill increase coming up next month. Mentioned about NFL ST, which is the main reason for my upcoming bill increase, as it auto renewed for my bill due september. Only thing they could offer me today for NFLST was $16.99 off my NFL ST Max for 6 months. Which I ended up having them remove NFL ST Max for now. I feel the $16.99 off I can still get in a couple weeks. So I rather wait, and see if anything better comes available.

As saving a little more money would be nice, because I already pay them a good amount each month being on their premier tv package. Which is something I discussed with them today. As I might drop down a package, and keep just HBO, and Showtime. As the couple shows I watch each year, are on them two movie channels. So some of the other movie channel's aren't really needed. The person I spoke with mentioned I could save about $30 a month just doing that. For sure will be considering that, as $200 a month tv bills is becoming old, and not a rate I want to continue to pay every month.

Finally I will keep an eye out on this thread over the next couple week's, just to see if they start offering anyone else any bigger discounts on NFL ST, the closer we get to the season. I will end up taking the $16.99 deal, if that's all they offer in the next couple weeks. I just wanted to hold off for now, just to see if any extra savings comes available.

    Called 800-824-9077 an hour ago.

First, that number is a godsend for A) avoiding the stupid prompts you get when calling their main number but more importantly, B) connecting directly with someone with authority, and C) getting a great result.

A woman in Alabama answered the phone and we chatted for a moment as she pulled up my records.

I told her I was calling as my contract expired 12 days ago, and I was hoping I could reduce my bill a bit going forward.
She noted I was Premier since 2007 with ST Max, EI, and CI.

I said ST Max was becoming a bit expensive and 40% of NFL games are on TV and cable.

She paused for a minute and then without hesitation threw out the following:
    1) $60 discount on Premier for 12 months. $720 total.

    2) $32 discount off various movie channels and SportsPack for 6 months. $192 total.

    3) $16.50 off STMax for 6 months. $99 total.

$1,011 discount over the next 12 months WITH NO CONTRACT EXTENSION needed!

I asked if there was any other discount available if I did sign a 12 month agreement, but surprisingly she said "No".

She went further and suggested I call back before the NFL season begins to see if any other discount becomes available. I did not bother asking about Red Zone as a stand alone.
She also suggested I call back when NHLCI pricing is introduced and to call after the 6 months of $32 discounts expire.
I've never had a rep suggest things like that.

Still not sure I'll keep ST Max, but either way, it's the best result I've gotten since I started DirecTV 11 years ago.

Thanks to those sharing their experiences in this thread and good luck to everyone.

Edit: Just checked the "recent transactions" page on their website and the first month of each of the discounts is already posted.

I am pretty sure it doesn't include strike zone. I don't see it listed on the channel listings & I have the pack as part of Premier package. I will know for sure in 30 minutes. The pack is basically regional channels that typically show college games except the ones you want to see.

Think it was about 2 years ago they changed that. It used to be you had to have Max to stream but now it's part of regular ticket. The only difference is the Redzone channel & Fantasy Football channel.

Thinking of doing the same thing once MLB postseason starts since some of packages don't have MLB channel & a couple of my shows will be over for the year. I get HBO free though since I have their crappy wireless.
