Called to cancel DTV a few weeks ago. Was going to switch to Charter for a year. I have Premier package. I already had a $35 monthly discount. I was offered another $64 monthly discount, free ST Max for 2018, and $300 in Visa gift cards. I decided to stay. I have never been offered a deal this good. I figure they are losing too many customers.

I got a call from DirecTV last night offering me ShowTime for free for 3 months and a 25 dollar credit off my bill for 6 months. I declined the offer, and asked if they were doing anything for Sunday Ticket yet and the guy said that I should call in to see what discounts are available (if I stay with DirecTV, I will check closer to football season).

This is the opinion that I also share. With the way that several of the late Sunday windows have been scheduled in the past few seasons, the only true merit with the package has been access to the entire early Sunday window of games. If you're an out of market fan for a team that gets little primetime exposure, it could be a necessity. But as a Steelers fan we were able to watch 12 games last season, including everything after week 8, without ST.

I still love the league and will work to receive some sort of discount, as my contract expires right at the start of September. But the initial read of the full sticker price for 2018 set me back a little bit.

Free Sunday ticket max nice ...

I miss those amazing deals. I think cause I have 4k now and under a 2 year contract my promos have been not so great .

I called the other day and they said I cannot get any more discounts or promos was maxed out at $40 Off monthly :(

Never in my almost 20 year history have I been told there is no promo / discount available... not even free movies ...

I'll call in a few months to see about NFL ST

I canceled my auto renew this year, I've had ST for at least 10+ years, I'm completely over it. With sling box at parents house for Jets games, redzone channel on a streaming service, MNF, TNF, England games, broadcast games, I'm not missing much. DTV is crazy to raise the price, they should cut it by half to keep me.

They need to make up for the people who canceled this last season due to the kneeling somehow.

Residential accounts are the proverbial drop in a bucket. Their ST money is made from commercial accounts. While I heard of some people here cancelling their programming, I haven't heard of too many bars/restaurants that cancelled.

Nah, they would have raised the price anyway. The whole package is ridiculously overvalued. Agree with the others who say bars and restaurants are the real important customers when it comes to Sunday Ticket, and if those places want to keep their businesses there's no way they can drop the package. Any sports bar worth its salt has DirecTV and the out-of-market packages.

No I'm aware that they would have raised the price. I was just giving the excuse of why they are. And I agree the package is way overvalued. But that way (in my eyes) DirecTV can discount the dang thing heavily or even give it away for free just to make people feel like they are getting some kind of huge deal of sorts.

The price for commercial accounts is based upon ECO ("EVO stands for Estimated Viewing Occupancy. This is an estimated number of people that would be able to view DIRECTV programming in your establishment.") and FCO (whatever that is). Their "Business Select" package for up to 100 customers without E$PN is $20 per month, and with E$PN is $63 per month. NFL $unday Ticket is extra, and no pricing is currently available.

Whatever. I just negotiated a lower rate for the next twelve months and ensured that NFL Sunday Ticket was NOT renewed even though I got it for free last year. Didn't watch it for all season.

Fire Code Occupancy (FCO). I read that as the maximum number of viewers possible at that establishment.

Makes more sense than my wild guess of "Full Capacity Occupancy".

You weren’t that far off. It’s typically called maximum occupant load, and a permanant sign usually gets posted with that number. The square footage of the establishment calculates the max number of persons allowed in that space based on the IBC.

For new owners taking over/building commercial spaces who want DirecTV, I have to document occupant load at the request of the owner/DirecTV for their pricing.

I've had ST since year 1 .. just cancelled my auto renew. Didn't get any offer. I've always paid full price every year. The number of games was just too eroded and I've been traveling on Sundays the last couple of years and if ST pricing was high, Max pricing is off the charts stupid. So no way I was going to do that. Plus the entire point was to watch the games on the big screen.

Probably a bit early to think about any discount offers.

I really wasn't pressing for a deal, I'm just surprised that after 20 or so years of having it that they just removed it without saying anything. But, try and remove HBO and you'd think I was stealing their puppies for coats.
