Ok so no streaming option included.

Just looked in the guide and rangers vs caps and Blackhawks vs Avs are not in nhl Ci or ran channels...

Anyone know what's up with that? 5 games tonight and 2 are not part of the package? Are these only available via espn+? In the past every game was available on TV and streaming so the cheap price may be for good reason.

You need to be aware of a the new world order for the NHL TV contracts. Many changes. Exclusive games on TNT,ABC,ESPN, HULU,ESPN+. It definitely is major change from the past. Those 2 games are exclusive to TNT tonite. If your following a specific team, their website probably has it broken down as to which network has their games on each night.
    Good Luck!

Thanks, I don't follow a specific team. I love being able to watch any game. I have premier and searched the guide and all I found was replays the next day on NHL network. I see the games now on TNT. Don't have Hulu or ESPN+. I simply prefer flipping between games on Directv. Streaming is ok when away from home but definitely not going to want to switch platforms to catch different games.

Anyone else compare ESPN on Directv to ESPN on streaming? I was amazed at the difference in the Tampa game.
DirectV looked like Directv with a good solid picture. The ESPN+ feed was bad. Tons of blotches and it just looked bandwidth starved. Plus jumpiness like it is under 30 fps. I also logged in to ESPN streaming using my provider (Directv) and thought that might have been marginally better. I hope ESPN improves the quality of their feeds.
I was thinking about dropping Center Ice to save $60 but I don't think it will be worth it. It doesn't make sense to have great TVs in my house and then watch a crappy source. My buddy 20 miles away was also disappointed in the ESPN+ feed last night. Meanwhile the pre-season games looked just as good as TV (although I could not directly compare them).

Yes, I saw the same last night. I thought maybe it was just my internet service or that I needed to restart the router or something. Guess not.

ESPN+ feed got better in the 3rd period.. The Vegas game was perfect I will also say the ESPN+ feed was pretty spot on with almost no delay

Yes, I've made a few posts on this on previous pages. But, really, nothing has fundamentally changed. A game on NBCSN/NHL Network was/is exclusive to that channel. NBCSN is now out of the picture and been replaced by TNT/ESPN/ESPN+. NHL Network continues to broadcast games. If you sub to a streaming service then you pick your poison. No NHL Network on YTTV or HULU, no TNT on FUBO, Sling has both but some/all locals missing (depending where you live) and no CBS Sports Channel. If you want all games then you must have DirecTV/Stream plus ESPN+.

Good summary, DanoP. I'd also add that only Direct Stream carries all of the local sports networks, so if your local team is broadcast on Bally, for example, the only way to stream those games is through Direct Stream.

Just be aware that there will be 75 games exclusively on Hulu/ESPN+.

Looking at the CI schedule here:

NHL CENTER ICE | Watch NHL Games on DIRECTV

Only one feed of some upcoming "Canadian" games:

    Wednesday - Winnipeg (Ducks' feed)
Friday - Canucks (Probably Flyers as we usually don't get SN1 feeds)

Watched Tampa on my Roku last night. it offered 3 feeds ESPN+, ESPN, and ESPN Deportes.
    The ESPN+ feed looked choppy.
    The ESPN feed looked fine.
And the Vegas game looked great, too

Also, it appears CI will carry NHL Network games live, even though ESPN+ does not.
    Friday's Hawks - Devils game is listed on 215, 769 and 770.

    Edit: Same thing for Thursday's Kraken's - Preds game on 215, 782, and 783, but not ESPN+.

I hope CI remembers to turn on 770 for Canucks - Oilers at 10:00EDT tonight.
It's in the online guide, but not the TV Guide.

Also, for those who "turn on" 769 - 787 during the season, there are several "spillover" games coming up on 788, 789, and 790 on Saturday night.

For those who are having issues with ESPN+'s picture, once you begin streaming a game, pause it, and rewind it about 20-30 seconds. Many times this trick play will work for me and it just did again tonight. I'm watching the Isles-Hurricanes game. Once I started streaming it, the picture was a fuzzy and jumpy, even after it played for about one minute. So I paused the picture, rewinded about 30-40 seconds, hit play, and the streaming picture was smooth and crystal clear after that. I've noticed this trick play work a lot for me in the past couple years when streaming ESPN and ESPN+, especially with their soccer telecasts and other live broadcasts.

What's funny for me is I get 1080p almost instantly on my Nvidia Shield TV at least for soccer. I haven't dabbled in NHL but I'm assuming it should be roughly the same on that device.

Looking over "My Programming", I now see this under "My Sports Channels".

    upload_2021-10-15_12-5-57.png

Last week, CI showed up as a channel I could purchase for 3 payments of $19.99. My next billing cycle begins on the 23rd, so I'll be curious to see what appears.
I did not call in for a discount on CI and was / am willing to pay....

    Anyone else seeing this?

Yes, I have seen this same entry for $0 in my account for a few days as well. However, my next bill just became visible today and I was charged the first of three installments of $55 ($165 total). I was one of those that got an email for NHLCI for $165 being added to my account via auto-renewal even though I got a postcard in the mail six weeks ago saying it would be $69.99 (3 x $23.33). Of course, I called right away because the correct price is $60 (3 x $20) and they cancelled my auto-renewal and credited the $55 charge. Then I went ahead and added the NHLCI back onto my account online at $60 (3 x $20). Hopefully, they will get the billing correct, but we will see. So make sure you all watch your billing for NHLCI carefully!

Tonight’s Minnesota/Anaheim game is exclusively on ESPN+, no RSN’s. Just curious, are these games available on local TV for each teams local viewers?

It's not on the Wild RSN Bally Sports North nor is it on the Ducks RSN Bally Sports Southern California. It is exclusively on ESPN+
