To get the Dish EPG set I wonder if I should call Dish about the local pack KPTV/KPDX, or the station(s)? When we got 12.1 KPTV/ 12.2 COZI /12.3 LAFF, there was the guide only for 12.1 KPTV, now with the switch of 12.1 KPTV/49.1 KPDX, neither guide is there. With the re-pack I wonder if that can be changed? I do get accurate OTA guides on both, but of course only the current program and next program. I have to go over to my HD converter Ematic to get a 24 hour guide.

If all receivers get the same data, I have a question..... For over two years I have run two 211z w/ota dongles and one 211k with internal tuner and do not subscribe to locals in my Dish package. The guide has always shown ota program information for the four major network channels plus six sub channels on all three receivers. Several months ago, the two 211z w/dongle receivers stopped showing any program information for any ota channel. However, the 211k receiver still populates the guide as before. If all receivers get the same info, and all my receivers are on the same antenna feed, what changed? No amount of rebooting or rescanning helps and I have made no changes to my system.

your smart cards are different (I mean SC internal records what allow or not watch channels and build EPG)

WHAT?? Nothing has been changed in my system in over two years. It used to work for most of that time and now it doesn't, with the same smart cards I've had all along!

The data DISH sends to the receivers can be different model to model.

DIsh has always said you need to subscribe to locals to get the OTA guide. You got lucky and it wasn't enforced on your account for a long time. You might find the OTA guide will work better using the Hard Drive option on your 211 / Wally receivers.

    Define data.

Data=EPG. Non-DVRs get a two day EPG while DVRs get the nine day EPG (Joeys get their EPG from the Hopper). All receivers get a "current/next" program EPG. That is the extent to how the EPG sent to the receiver can be different. There is not a separate EPG for XiPs vs ViPs vs older receivers. There are channel flags that define channels that are only available on XiP receivers and those channels are discarded on ViP receivers. This is similar to the way the old SD receivers would not show HD channels that could not be displayed. The same guide filtered as it is downloaded to keep only the channels the receiver can display. (In addition to filtering by channel type, the receiver also filters out channels that are not on a satellite the receiver can receive and hidden channels that are unsubscribed. The full 6080 channel EPG is filtered to create the EPG a customer sees.)

Data=Auth. Channel authorizations should be the same on all receivers on an account. Especially when the receivers are all the same basic type (ViP or XiP).

Data=Firmware. While the 211 series are similar they have slightly different capabilities and I believe the firmware is different between variants. The thread starter can look on his receivers and see if they have the same firmware. Perhaps a bug was introduced.

What data were you referring to?

Actually I subscribe to no dishnet packages except for the French Bouquet which was forced on me to keep getting TV5. I have a VIP612 with OTA input and the OTA guide data has been integrated with the dish guide for some time. Still is as of the beginning of this post. I think I recall that I didn't get OTA guide data initially, but I certainly do now. I mean, what would be the point of OTA tuners without the guide data?
