I already have one room setup with DirectTV, and have tried to setup the second, but having problems. Presently I have a multisatellite dish and an HD receiver(with integrated diplexer). When I first set everything up, I ran 2 RG6 cables from the dish(it has an integrated multiswitch) and 1 RG6 from the terrestrial antenna into a 3X4 multiswitch, then 1 RG6 to each room. When I tried to setup the second room, the reception in the 1st room drops below operational levels...and the reception in the second is patchy(some transponders good/some low). A satellite tech told me I couldn't use the multiswitch, but rather should use a diplexer to combine satellite and antenna signal for 1st room...and run the 2nd satellite cable directly to the 2nd room receiver. When I did this, the reception in the 2nd room is great, however, the satellite signal in the 1st is absolute 0(although the terestrial antenna signal is passing through). Any ideas what could be happening and how to fix it?
