We have finally replaced the last sd tv in our home. We currently have a 722 w/Sling(leased), a 612 (leased), and a 512 (purchased). I am wondering what the best option, simply replace the 512 with another 612 or similar model, or switch to the hopper with 2 joeys? What would the difference in the monthly fees be, etc. As it stands now we are already paying $27 a month in dvr/receiver fees. Both the 722 and 612 are connected to ota which from what i have seen is an issue with the hopper? I would hate to lose that option. Any info/input is appreciated.

Add a second 612 monthly bill should remain the same. A hopper will only give you 3 tuners Joey's have no tuners so a joey uses 1 of the 3 tuners in the Hopper. The 722 & 612's have 2 satellite tuners each and one OTA tuner each so you would have 9 potential tuners to record on.

RBA, thanks for the info. I love using the picture in picture while watching games on my 722, so if i had to share only 3 tuners with the wife i can see this being an issue. Thanks again!

Why not Hopper3, same pricing as Hopper? 16 tuners!

Went with upgrading the wife to a 612. Tech ended up finding an issue with our dish and replaced it free of charge. After talking to him he suggested backfeeding my 722k to my patio tv which i did. Good to go!
