Yeah but it's great saucony posted this instead of wading through 2000+ posts!

I quit following that thread long ago. Would not have known about BBCHD if I had not seen the banner ads. I am finally content with the HD I get after the recent additions. Any more would just be icing on the cake for me.

I'd recommend subscribing to The Sixto Report. It's no chatter and only gets a post when there are changes to HD channels and such.

That may be....but having duplicate discussions on the same topic is also confusing and may require hunting around in other places for other duplicate information.

There is already a (locked) new HD channel announcement thread, an anticipation thread (which is turning into a discussion thread on jmust the latest channels) on the new HD channels, and this one. Two of those 3 have been around for a very long time, so most folks seem to go to those anyway (and just access the most recent page of posts).

I guess info is good, no matter where it is.

It's not duplicate discussions. That thread is about what we want or what will come, this thread is about what just happened.

If anything, the discussion about what was just added is appropriate for this thread and not for the other thread.

I would have to agree with the OP.

OK...I guess we'll just have to disagree then.

Virtually the same dsicussion has been posted in the other thread as well.

That said (and as I pointed out previously), the other thread is an anticipation thread about new channels in the future, but the last 1 1/2 pages of that thread mostly contains discussion on the channels we just got yesterday.

    We're all good.

Awesome news about these three. There are a few shows we watch or record for the grandkids on them.

Kinda agree about this thread. Back in the heyday of HD additions, we used to have a thread to discuss each new channel.

    Fine with it either way.

    Actually,

Ion EAST HD was pulled at the last minute. It went in to test, all indications were there in the guide (SD Duplicate disappeared), and then 1 day before the HD guide data wasn't updated and the channel wasn't launched. Still in test.

According to someone who called ION, they didn't sign the contracts yet, so it is on a....shall we say.... "legal delay".

I say the thread stays. The anticipation topic can now move in to the direction of anticipating more HD, and this thread can discuss the 4 (or potentially, 5) channels being launched.

If all there is left to discuss is if the thread should stay open or not I will close it. If you would like to discuss the channels I'll leave it.

So as for the new HD channels we just got....WOO HOO.

Several of these have been on the "wish list" in other threads for some time.

In previous threads, it became clear that BBC was a popular channel, and the HD channel version would be quite welcome. I saw similar discussions about Nat Geo Wild.

New HD channels are always a good thing....and these are no exception.

Yeah BBC America has always been the #1 for me to want in HD.

I just wish they would go back to more British original programming. Copper is looking to be really great and I will watch it.... and I love Top Gear, Doctor Who, and Graham Norton.

And although I am a pretty big fan of Star Trek, I can do without TNG. That show plays on multiple channels. Same with BSG, it is an awesome show, but both were really American/Canadian productions with a few British actors in them.

Shows I want them to show (again):

    - Merlin (will they pick up the next season?)
    - Law & Order: UK. (Is a series 7 coming?)
    - Sherlock.

Not yet shown in the US:

    - The thick of it. - Satire/Comedy about the British Government.
    - The peep show. - Ran from 2003/2010 - Sitcom.
    - The Fades. - Supernatural/Drama/Scifi type show. Only one season was done though. :(
