I'M sure this has been mentioned before but since the latest software update my 4K is way too dim and rather lifeless. It used to be fantastic and now it pretty much sucks. I have a Sony but from what I understand this problem is not brand specific. Can someone enlighten !r as to what's going on. Thanks

Check to see if your TV's picture adjustments are locked. In the unlocked mode the TV makes picture adjustments from the signal it's receiving which causes changes in picture quality. In the locked mode the settings remain the same.

4K still looks outstanding on my set, and I have the latest update.

I guess I need a step by step direction on how to check this. When I go into Picture Adjustments I see nothing about locked or unlocked

Using your Sony TV's remote select Action Menu - Picture Adjustments - Advanced Settings. After selecting Advanced Settings it will either tell you if picture adjustments are locked or take you to the picture adjustments menu if they are not.

Apparently I am unlocked because it takes to me to theadjustment menu. What do I do now?

Try locking your settings and see if that solves the issue you're experiencing.

Using your Sony TV's remote select Home, scroll down to Settings and select. A window will appear on the right of the screen with selections. Scroll down to Picture Adjustments Lock and select.

OK I found it. Don't know how I missed it before. Unfortunately it did not help my 4K problem. The picture is about 20% darker as is the guide itself when watching one of the 4K channels. I did not have this problem a couple of months ago. It may be a coincidense but I think it started with the new gui and the HS17 install

Only other thing I can think of is try different Picture Mode settings while viewing a 4K channel and see if it helps.

It's an LG 79UB9800. Every 4k source I use on it looks fantastic.

Same with my Sony XBR-55X900C. No issues with any 4K source.

While 4K on my LG looks pretty good, the guide and info banner while on 4K is very dim. Called tech support and they said they would forward it to their engineers. Was told they may need to send a software update. If there is no improvement in the next week or two, I was asked to call back. Any thoughts, could there be a problem with the C61?

Finding the common denominator with this issue has yet to be determined. I have a C61K-700 and am not experiencing the dimness others are.
