It may be simpler, but that doesn't mean he has a swm setup at his home.

Give it up dude... we are talking about his setup at his cabin.... and the best thing for him to do is just switch it out to SWM regardless of what he has at HOME...

Actually he is best off having the same setup at both locations. That will make moving the boxes easier. Your contention was that he has a swm setup at his house, and you claimed that with virtually no proof. If he got a swm setup for his cabin and had a non swm at home it would be a nuisance when he connected his cabin box back home. Have you ever moved a box from a swm to non swm setup?

Ok , look SWM has been installed on new installs for many years now..... Odds are he has swm at his house. Why ask the question in the first place? Even if he did have the old equip it is still better to switch it out to newer swm equip... And YES i have switched many times.... I have been installing for 16 years and I have D2 certification..... It's not a nuisance.... Just a matter of changing the sat in the setup...

Ok guys. Here's what I have.
It is a slimline dish. I attached pics of serial number if that helps.
    My receiver is a H25-100

Do I need to replace lnb?
There is a ground for the house right where the coax comes to the house.
Would be easy to add a block to that.

Yes, you have to replace the LNB. The H25 only runs on a SWM system.
That is a Slimline 5 dish and LNB. Does the one at your home look like this or does it have just 1 of the plastic Eyes ? If it has just 1 then that would be what I would get to match the one at home. Makes things a lot easier from move to move. Eliminates a setup fro each move.
Of course you need a Power Inserter to go with it.

The one at home is just a single lnb.

    Amazon has a SL3-swm lnb
Will that work with my slimline 5?

Sorry for all the questions. Just want to buy it right the first time.

When you buy the SL3 it will then match what you have at home ( one plastic eye ), The single eye is a 3 LNB. The 3 eye is a 5LNB. I know it is not logical and screws with a lot of peoples heads.
