I woke up to the 722 error message this morning. Did two red button reboots, two 15 second unplugs, and two remote refreshes via the ATT website have not worked. Receiver is a many years old HR-34.

Just got off a 20 minute phone call to ATT support. He tried several refreshes with no luck. Confirmed no outages in Arizona. If not resolved on their end within 24 hours (review software etc.??) will send a technician.

Anyone have advice on which receiver to get if it needs replacing? Have a 4k tv connected to it via HDMI, an HD tv connected via audio/video cables, and need to add a remote wireless tv. Is the HR-54 the best choice?

    Thanks for any help.

Replace that HR34-700. It's had more problems than a dead monkey on a rock. If you want 4K service you'll need either a HR54 or a HS17. The HR54 has a 1 TB Hard Drive. It can be connected to a TV. It works with receivers, DVRs and clients. For 4K service it needs a C61K-700 client. The HR54 works with one 4K stream at once. The HS17 has a 2 TB Hard Drive. It is a headless server and cannot be connected to a TV. It only works with clients. For 4K service it needs a C61K-700 client. The HS17 works with two 4K streams at once.

The 722 error could not be resolved. I spent an hour+ on the phone with ATT yesterday just getting a new receiver and setting up the installation (ugh). An HR54 will be installed today at no cost (although I will have to dispute the $99 install cost later, more ugh), other than a 2 year contract (which I got a discount on for the first year).

    Thanks for the advice.

Hope that solves your problem. I'd be praying at this point.
