Hi All - have an HR23-700 with an AM21, slimline 5 dish to a multiswitch to the HR23 (this is the only receiver hooked up). Started getting "searching for signal" 771 errors on Sat in 2 tonight. Only seems to affect some of the spot beam locals, low channels like 3, 5, 22, 31

I've tried the 9501 - 9515 channels and all seems OK. Signal meter seems OK too but not sure as some show zero but I seem to remember that is OK.
    101 is high 90s
    110 is mid 90s
    119 is high 90s
    99c is high 60s and low 70s
    99s is zero for transponders 1-6, 19, 21, 22; high 90s for others
    103s is zero 1-5, 6, 16,19,21, 22; 50s for 20 and 23; 90s for all others
    103ca is low 70s
    103cb is low70s to low 80s
numbers are similar for tuner 1 or tuner 2

switched the cables on the back of the HR23 and still have the same problem.
did a menu reset, did not fix.
checked setup and it looked OK, showed slimline 5 and multiswitch, dual tuner

    software is 0x457
    location is New England

    would appreciate your thoughts

First, your dish is not aligned very well, but I dont think that is causing your problem. Since this is the only receiver hooked up, how about bypassing the multiswitch and hook the DVR up directly to two ports on the LNB, and see if you still have trouble. A power off (unplug) reset of the DVR would probably be a good idea as well. Also check the tightness of the coax connectors on the DVR.

    coax is good and tight
been a long windy snowy winter up here, not surprised it's out of alignment :)

I could try the direct hookup, would have to put some barrel type couplings in place though as I can't get the box and TV out to the dish.

    thank you

did the unplug for 15+ minutes, then restart.
major pixelation, but the low channel spot beam locals are back.
I'll realign the dish over the weekend and see if that cures the pixelation
