I am extremely pleased with the "beta" VOD. In my opinion, it doesn't seem like "beta" at all. The menus are quick. The download of SD content comes fast enough to really call it "on demand". I watched the widescreen version of American Graffiti last night and the picture was better than expected on my LCD tv. Given the limitations of satellite/high speed internet VOD, this is a great trade-off.

To those that gave us the sneak peak preview...thank you! I've put out some negative posts in the past. In hindsight, I now understand alot of the things that I spoke negatively about. For that, I apologize and promise that if I feel the need to say something negative, I will let at least a day go past before actually posting what I feel. I think that process would work very well for others. It's hard to take something back when you post it on a public forum, so remember your legacy before clicking on that "post quick reply" button.

I've watched a coupla shows so far. There's quite a bit there, quite an eclectic mix, ut I think it'll be REALLY interesting once the individual "channels" are available like TCM, and so forth. As I stated in another thread .. put up some old John Wayne westerns and I'll never post again!

Good point houskamp! I wasn't meaning to limit it to VOD, but I did give it a higher mention because of the excitement for it that's been building for a few months now. I also was appreciative to see how DIRECTV personel were a bit "upset" that people weren't getting their VOD to work right away. I'm not sure I agree with some of the reactions toward it but I can definately understand the frustratins involved on all parties.

A  to a good group and a new friends too!

Great experience. Great people. Great support. Thanks to all the CE-ers. Mods, and D*.
And I too am surprised at what I'm downlaoding and watching with VOD. I thought it would be a passing fad, but when you can grab Big Audio Dynamite doing "Rush" live, and a They Might Be Giants docu, you quickly find that even with a slow connection, it's worth it to have these things show up in the playlist.
    Thanks again.

I was luke warm to VOD, but after playing with it I'm enjoying it. Hopefully the free content will continue after national launch.

BTW - My wife complains more about the TIVO than the HR-20 since the 190 load. Great work!

sounds like he has his router close to one of the HRs (wired) and is using a wireless bridge to connect to the second HR.

I would like to say Thanks for all the continued innovations that D* has released lately. Thanks for not being satisfied with the status quo and continuing to innovate with the HR20. DOD is an outstanding start, thank you for letting us help improve it.
