Of course and that is free. if you want DirecTV you have to pay up..... that was my point...
I already have HR24 connected to that TV. 3D won't work without it. Thought picture in picture would work but it won't (I meant by my TV). Oh well, I'll just ship the H24 that I got and have it break even. I'll wait until I see the bill because the CSR told me the bill will remain the same.
Mirroring fee has been around since dy one when most their stuff was made by others. Nothing will change that. No company that I know of offers free additional outlets anyway unless it's a analogue cable system still.
You do realize that some CSRs will tell you anything to suck you into a recommitment?
Rich, that just seems unfair. Such CSRs will be weeded out eventually. I've never had a bad one, though I try to not call unless absolutely necessary. Some will call at the drop of a hat, which is part of the costs we all have to bear.
If you already have a receiver hooked to the TV and you just switch to use the RVU in the TV, then yes the bill should remain the same.
I call very infrequently and seem to always get someone who doesn't have a clue. Perhaps it's just my bad luck. I've also been blatantly lied to and have reported those lies. The weeding process doesn't seem to be working. In the case of the person who posted about his monthly payment not going up if he got an RVU (is that correct?) TV, he was either lied to or misinformed by a misinformed CSR.
I've had experience with several CSR's that are totally clueless. Maybe I got one of them on my last call. I thought RVU runs off the Genie, thus it's getting signals from the Genie, not the satellite dish. It doesn't really matter. I can always ship the H25 back just to avoid getting an extra $6 on my bill or I can just suck it up as it's only six bucks. On the other hand, it'll actually be $9 more on my bill.... remember, every year our bill goes up $3 regardless of our television service providers (cable, dish, directv).
