I currently have a VIP 622 for my HDTV. I use the dual tuner for PIP features. I also have a 322 for my SD tv in my bedroom.

I am remodeling my basement and I will be adding another HDTV in the basement. I would like to add another HD receiver for the basement HDTV and the TV2 out would go to my bedroom. I believe the VIP 222 would be the receiver that would handle this option. I already have DVR service with the 622 and I think I'll route the eventual 222 through an HTPC for dvr-like abilities.

Am I assuming correctly that I would be able to simply swap out the 322 for the Vip 222?

If so, what would the addition of the Vip 222 do to my monthly bill in terms of fees? Right now, I am paying the $7.00/month for the Vip 622 and the $5.98 DVR service fee.

Your monthly service fees should not change.
You already have HD, and you already have a dual-tv tuner in the 322.

I would suggest you read up on the reviews of the 222 prior to making your decision.
