New to the forum and I hope this is in correct place.

Directv installer here and been using an aim for a good while. Over Christmas holidays I woke up to go to work as usual to only get on to my 1st joh and aim meter reads "temperature to low, battery charging disabled" I have expanded my resources looking and working on a solution and would absolutely love to find anyone who knows anything about these meters that could possibly help me other than manufacture.

I have the original AIM meter and I have never had that issue but I know that it does have that feature and will come up with that message if the meter is left in a cold area too long. I think most people keep them in the vehicles cabin until they are ready to do the alignment.

I spent years at a job that was mainly electrical troubleshooting. I learned to call the manufacturers when I got stuck. Path of least resistance, I think. What you get when you make the call is a crapshoot, but some manufacturers are pretty good about tech support. Especially meter makers.

If it has a lithium battery, that may be the issue. I have some security cameras that have lithium batteries and they are programmed to disallow charging if the battery temperature is below approx. 32 degrees F and won't work at all if the battery temp drops below about 4 degrees F. From what I am told, this is to protect the battery from damage during cold weather.

An error with an exact message comes up on the screen and for some reason people believe the unit is defective???

It’s not like the OP said it’s 80 degrees here and I am getting this message.

The temperature of the machine was not disclosed (although the fashion police have been alerted).

(The National Weather Service reports Jackson MS had seven days with a low below 32 in December.)

It’s never been in cold weather I don’t care what the national weather service says. It’s been used during 50 degree plus weather
