Nothing will connect or play this afternoon, similar to what I reported on the WWW client thread. I don't know if this is an issue on the Directv side or with my work ISP's handling of the stream between here and there.

As of about 1:25 p.m. CDT, I can buffer and play about 10 seconds of High quality before things time out. It will attempt to rebuffer once or twice and sometimes plays again for about 10 more seconds before failing, after which I have to change to a new feed to get anything to play. At Medium quality, I am now (1:32 p.m.) able to play a feed steadily (several minutes at least).

Edit #2: the connection timed out sometime in the last 20 minutes while I was not paying attention and I had to restart it. Now playing again.

Edit #3: and just like yesterday, I timed out after around 4 minutes. I will not report again today unless I see streaming periods regularly longer than this.

ADDITIONAL DATA POINT: Since yesterday, I have restarted my computer and booted up from scratch, something I rarely if ever do or have to do with my Mac. I typically only reboot once every several weeks, when system software updates require it.

Clicked on the Supercast icon today 8/20/08 and all it did was go to my task bar at the bottom of the screen.I tried a reboot and still no luck.I guess the only thing left to do is do a reinstall.
    It worked just fine yesterday.

Reinstall Flash, shouldn't make a difference, but the AIR client may be calling it

While clarity and blocking is better than WWW ...I soon saw the "circle of buffering" appear about every 10 seconds when running both instances (WWW and AIR). This was not the case yesterday.

Red Zone Channel not loading. Some videos start stuttering and then are fine, but most keep stuttering. Pause isnt working either.

Running from noon till 5:30PM eastern. Had various freezes throughout the day especially when I left for awhile (spinning beach ball effect) and returned to find my laptop screen saver had kicked in. Other than that everything was fine today.

Had the Air Client running from about 3 till 5:30 eastern time and I only had it freeze once. It was about 4:00 and all I had to do was change channels from the Red Zone to the Cards vs Skins game and not had a problem since.

Seem to be pretty steady the first time out. Picture is fine as long as you don't go full screen. No real break ups, just an occasional twitch. Pretty steady in the 15 minutes watching the Angels.
Coming back an hour later, the picture on the baseball game that was on is now frozen. Returning to the Redzone brings back live video

In contrast to this afternoon's herky-jerky/stop-every-few-minutes fest on my office DSL connection, at home on my cable connection is great. (even over my 802.11n WiFi network shared by 16 devices :D)

I did have a hiccup when I switched from Medium to High quality - I had to switch channels to reestablish the connection but once started it's working great.

Update: Today the the game channels are actually streaming. The video is relatively smooth there is even a test channel being streaming. All it is though is a new Active Channel with Weather Channel weather.

Installed AIR with no issues. Client works well in standard view. Streams become active within 10 seconds. Watching a stream that is also on my tv and there is about 5 second delay with the TV being more current. Had issues changing streams in full screen mode and sometimes the stream would not load. Video has some slight chop but nothing too terrible. Picture quality in high is very good. Same chop appears in medium quality. Typically with faster moving video like ball players running, etc.

    Small suggestion...

I personally think it may look a little better to have the team names centered over the display window... instead of left aligned...

I am unable to get the AIR client to work. I get logged in but it just shows that it's loading but never comes up with the main menu. The web client works fine.
