Not to be pushy or anything, but since I keep refreshing the page hoping to see results and there aren't any, and now it's officially past "early next week", having a couple of hours ago passed "exactly midweek" in my time zone...

Any update on when results may be available?

Still doing the doublecheck. I don't want to post preliminary results that might not be right.

And I'm mysteriously drawn to trying to figure out the other contest going on right now.

Found one answer. Here are is picture proof of the 3 dishes on the patio. Of course that doesn't mean more than one has this same setup.

Yes. Heaven forbid the preliminary results be known. Someone might mistake them for the yet forthcoming final results. ;)

And for those that are doing the other contest, attached is another picture of the same 3 satellite dishes. This picture won't help you any more then the other one did, but it's always good to get multiple views of the same thing.

Heh. Of course, if you know where the moderators live, you can just go over and look...

But this is way off-topic for this thread.

ok, how about the preliminary results? I know I didn't win, but I'd like to see who did?

Umm... But if they're preliminary, you wouldn't see who won. You'd only see who might have won...

At this point, that's good enough for me. I trust the initial results. I want to know if it's cdru, you or a dark horse from the rear?

Attached is what I used to score the final two legs. It has what I thought the detours would be scored. Danny may score them differently.

For Leg 11 Detour 1, I had everyone getting it right although I didn't check everyone's answer. They appeared basically the same

For Leg 11 Detour 2, I had everyone scored the same. Mwgiii had more information, but the question asked for names.

For Leg 12, Detour 1, Ric and Markdl had flights that left at 7:53, before the stated time in the question. Danny has already said that those would be wrong.

I also included the scoring from Leg 6 Question 6 (the one about if anyone when over the 6-roadblock limit...no one did)

Things that aren't included on the score sheet:
-The yields have the -1, but the +1 aren't assigned as I didn't include the leader at the end of the leg.
-I think I got the fast forward, but I didn't put what my bonus was because I didn't include the cumulative score.
-The response bonuses aren't on there.
-The remaining preliminary poll's aren't on there, but I don't think the extra -12 or +12 would effect the winner. It will probably change the final overall order though.

I did some quick numbers and came up with I think would be the 1-2-3 finishers were, but I'm not going to post it. I don't want to get anyone's hopes up and end up making a big mistake somewhere. If you want to figure it out do it yourself. :)

Nice redirection. Everyone is at your throat to get the results up and you give us another contest. Well your little plan isn't going to work with me. I'm not going to fall for...oh look, a new clue is posted. I wonder what a big bridge hints at...

I guess I have to go with the word of Danny but the question said if I left at 8PM and 7:53 is 8PM in my mind. Now if it had said you must leave after 8PM - then I would agree but the question was "This week the contestants appear to pass through Hawaii. If I left at 8pm local time from Honolulu on Feb 8th, what route would get me to Atlanta the quickest passing through Chicago?"

So I will post my concern that the semantics of the question left 7:53 as an available option to an 8 departure. I don't expect to win either but I don't think that I nor Markdl should get the question wrong.

I disagree. If you left at 8pm local time, you could not have left at 7:53 local time, because then you would have already left. Time travel notwithstanding.

I agree with Danny's decision. A line in the sand has to be drawn somewhere. IF 7:53 counts, then would 7:52? 7:51? 7:50?

True - but if it is a a discussion of semantics - to leave at 8PM is to leave AT 8pm, not 8:01 or anytime thereafter. So, according to the question, only someone who had a flight starting at exactly 8 would be correct.

Not trying to create an argument, just stating my thought process on the question when I read it. I assumed that if it had to be after 8PM then it would have stated it as such, therefore around 8pm was how I read it. In the end, I can only state my case and it is Danny's decision since he is running the show.

I'll be announcing the winner as well as the prize for the new contest tommorrow night during the chat! See you all there.

I could be mean and say the winner has to be present to win... nah... just kidding ;)

The chat starts at 7:30 CST, 8:30 eastern. See you then.

And once that's done, you'll post it here, too, for those of us who can't commit to any real-time things, right?
