I'm hoping Q3 ends up being a tie, 4-4, so that everyone gets screwed equally. If that happens, you'll probably hear Danny all the way down in Georgia.

    Laughing?

Oh, one other note... if Unbelievable doesn't play next week as well, I'm going to bump DJ Rob's original starting score up to abospaum's. I don't want to horribly penalize folks starting the game late by giving them scores of the inactive players.

    Scores are updated above.

Tusk's perfect game for the basic questions makes him the new leader. Happygolucky also had a perfect score on the basic questions.

Anybody else getting a little annoyed with all the areas where folks can catch up this season? Major major errors have gone unpunished because of all the bottlenecks.

The other thing about this season is that the teams are all getting along by and large (although from the preview it sounds like that stops next week). You don't learn their names because you identify them by there looks/age. Bolo is the only one that really sticks out because he's a wrestler.

The bottlenecks, such as unopened locations or airports, have always been on my pet peeve list, but I don't think that they are any worse then last season. So far this season they have been early on in the episode and before the detour and roadblock. Without them, I think you would see Hayden/Aaron and Kris/Jon start to get further and further ahead off the other teams and Hera/Gus and Don/MJ further and further behind. By having a pinchpoint or two in every episode, it helps to catch everyone up so that it isn't always the same people winning (which is still has been so far though) and giving others a chance.

As to the teams getting along, remember it's still early in the season. They've only been racing 10 days tops. They haven't had a lot of time with each other to get on each other nerves. Also, the weaker teams have been the ones that have been losing so there hasn't been a urgent need to start picking on other teams or sabotaging them with misdirections or backstabbing. I'd expect it to start soon though as Don/MJ and Hera/Gus drop off soon and then you are left with the middle-of-the-pack teams to start fighting.

Hopefully my favorites Kris/Jon don't stoop down to the petty fighting level.

I'm not upset with the bottle necks. Technically, the ferry to the island could be a bottleneck, but the pitstop was essentially a "wild goose chase": somewhere on the island (not specifying how big the island truly is...).

Also, here's a potential rules question: could Don and MJ have bought a round trip ferry ride (knowing it would be be at least 12 hours later) on the mainlannd? Here's my logic: if it were an elimination leg, TAR would ship them back however they would do it for someone who was eliminated (and they could throw away the tickets they bought), or if it were not an elimination leg, and they knew they'd lose all of their cash, they'd at least have a way back to the mainland... Of course, trying to beg for money or a way to the airport won't be as easy in Senegal as it would be in someplace like last season at the Pyramids...

Begging for money on the island probably won't be too much of an issue as it's a tourist destination. Poor locals likely don't go there as much; instead tourists/out-of-towners would likely frequent it more.

It wouldn't suprise me if a return ticket wasn't needed. If the ferry is the only way onto the island, it would stand to reason that people would take that ferry back as well. If there isn't a hotel on the island, I doubt TAR producers would leave the team there to fend for themselves unless they had plenty of time to beg. More likely the producers would transport them back to the mainland to a hotel and from there they would have to start to beg. If you remember from last season when Brandon and Nicole came in last in Indian, they were begging at the hotel, not at the Queen Victoria Memorial (or where ever the pitstop was).

I guess we'll find out next week what happens...

Thanks, this is the best week I've had in the two seasons of this contest. Don't worry though, I'll turn it around next week. :D
