Many thanks to cdru who pointed out a number of errors in the spreadsheet, some of which dated back a few moves. I think I fixed them all without hopefully introducing too many additional ones. New results are posted above.

You assigned the yield "penalty" to Q6, when it should have been in Q5's scoring column. Doesn't change the result of the spreadsheet though.

I also didn't see that -30 bonus you were going to give me for finding the mistakes...I guess it won't appear until this week. Right? :D:sure:

Danny - did you change the way you're doing the yield in Leg 7? Legs 1-6, only the person (or leader) chosen was yielded. Then in Leg 7, everyone started getting a day added, except for the winner who lost a day. Did you intend to make the yield a 2 day swing at that point?

Someone's upset they gained 2 days. :) I noticed the same thing a few weeks back but didn't question it. I figured that in the show, the yield only can penalize one team, but now in our contest, all but one get some penality, with the chance for a team or two to get a little bigger penalty. I didn't question it as I needed all the help I could get to catch up to you.

I changed the way I scored several of the questions at the halfway point. If you notice, its not just to the yield, but also to some of the other questions as well, as I now give a negative bonus if you get Q1/Q2 right.

Because there are fewer teams, this was planned to offer a a larger point spread and counter the lesser points found in the multiple choice questions.

The scoring has always been listed with each question.

Actually, I didn't gain 2 days because Chaos (the winner of the yield in week 9) had already won the yield previously. So, his yield had no affect this week, other than him losing the day.

I just hadn't noticed the change until the other day.

Danny - Did you intend to stop posting the contest questions in Week 8 as well? You posted them for weeks 1-7, then didn't in 8 and 8b, and then did again in 9 when I asked for them. If it was just an oversight, would you please post the week 8 and 8b questions?

I hadn't noticed that. I presumed the +2 you three leaders got in Q6 was just a misplaced yield scoring that should have gone for Q5. Is this a mistake then Danny or where did the +2 come from?

Oh, you are correct. Chaos did in fact already use a yield, and isn't eligible to yield anyone again. So the extra point on the leaders will go away.

As for the questions, that is mostly just a time issue. Unfortunately work has gotten VERY intense of late, which means I haven't had as much time as I like to spend on the contest (and am thus making more careless mistakes too :( ).

Anyway, I have to erase the old questions off the web server to make room for the new, but since I've had such a heavy work load the past few weeks I've not had time to do all the editing and posting to get them moved over here first. I'll see if I can post an approximation of what they are to each page.

FYI, if this work load continues, I don't think I will be able to do next season's contest. We'll see how its going by the finale.

I had a print out of 8b sitting in my To-Be-Recycled stack so I updated that thread. 8a already had most of the questions mentioned in a round about way in one of Danny's posts so I just made a the actual questions (paraphrased) and filled in with the remaining question that weren't mentioned. Answers can be gotten off the spreadsheet.
