Adam's version of Ring of Fire was VERY unusual, but I can't say I hated it. Thought Danny was the best of the night and ironically Michael the country singer might have been the worst. I'm throwing in votes for Danny and Megan

I was surprised by how much I liked Adam's Ring of Fire. It started slowly and really built, and let me say, the kid has "presence", to use a Paula phrase. He just owns the stage, and I don't think there's anyone else up there as comfortable as he is when he performs.

I'm not getting the love for Danny on his performance or vocals. Sure, he's got the back-story, but that's not why I buy music from artists....

Megan was atrocious. This was another "WTF were they listening to" moment. She was the only one who I thought was bad tonight. Adam can sing, but I did care for the "Cora Corman" arrangement.

I've liked Adam in the past but really hated his screechings tonight.

IMHO Kris, Danny and Matt had the best performances.

My favorite the last 2 weeks has probably been Matt Giraud. Both weeks I thought he did incredible. I also think Adam Lambert is very talented.

I think Adam is going to be either you liked it or hated it. Very polar on that one.

Danny 2nd half was spot on.

Lil criticism was not deserved in my book. Vocals I thought were there.

    Matt G. Excellent Job.

Anoop... Very suprising and given the song choice a big kudos.

    Kris was very good.

Alexis, Allison, and Megan Good enough.

Scott and Michael were bottom two in my book and I would send Michael home.

Top 11 and, well, quite frankly, I enjoyed pretty much every song tonight. The one that stands out as negative (not really bad) was Allison's but that was because I got bored during the performance. Could be the song as I thought she sang it well.

My vote for the best .. Anoop and Adam :)

Great night, IMO. I thought Anoop, Danny, Kris and Matt sang best. My bottom three were Michael, Scott and Megan. I thought she was terrible, but props to her for being such a trooper. Had no idea she was ill until the song was over.

What a strong group of singers this year! A tribute to the new selection process, I think. Based on what I've heard so far, I think except for Scott, Michael, Megan and Alexis, any one of the other 7 could conceivably win it all if they choose the right songs. Just my .02. /steve

+1. I think the judges will realize it when they watch a replay.

Also think Kara and Randy were too hard on Danny on the first part of JTTW. We listened to it again and thought he sang it the only way he could. It's an odd song, because it's half narrative and half chorus.

Also listened to Anoop-dog again. Good for him! :) /steve

Mark me down in the "hate it" category for that Ring of Fire rendition. I thought it was absolutely awful and pretentious. I tend to side with Simon most of the time anyway.

Allison is far and away my favorite lately; every performance she knocks it out of the park. For all of the fawning over Adam 'working the stage' she's working the stage AND the audience every time.

Danny's my close second but his jacket last night was freakin' ridiculous.

I like her, but probably because I like blues singers. She reminds me of Janis Joplin, but without the drugs, so not as edgy. /steve

I'm not really sure what there is to get, though. She's a rock(ish) singer.

Definitely agree on the strong singing. Had to disagree on the who has a shot at the end. Versatility is the key and based on that I would say.

    Front Runners.
    --------------
    Lil
    Adam
    Danny

    Dark Horse
    ------------
    Kris
    Matt
Allison (She reminds me a bit of Kelly clarkson)
    Alexis

Long Shot (Most likely will not come close)
    -------
    Megan

    Not a Chance
    -------------
    Scott
    Michael
    Anoop

Really liked Anoop last night, but I have serious questions on versatility. to me he is the Red/Chicken little in a very strong field. Yes he can sing, but I can safely say you will not hear "next american Idol is Anoop". But then again I thought no way would Taylor make it.

As for last night.. My order would have been.

    Danny
    Matt
    Kris
    Anoop
    Lil
    Adam
Allison (She reminds me a bit of Kelly clarkson)
    Alexis
    Megan
    Scott
    Michael

As for why Lil and Adam are in the middle is because though vocally Adams and Lil songs were top notch they missed in the their song choices. I expect "It" moments from both of them before the season is out. Danny was close this show but the beginning was a bit rough.

Hey, she sings good. I like to listen to Pink and other Female Rockers (Joan Jett and Lita Ford from the 80's). Maybe it's because she's just not flashy enough, I don't know.

I'm just not wowed like the Judges (and Randy Travis) and some of you here.

    Ron,

Don't you mean Lit'l  .. That's so funny that Simon kept calling her "little" as a different form of "Li'l" when in reality "Lil" is a shortened form of "Lillian." I sure hope Simon apologizes to her tonight because he was simply wrong this time.
