I'm trying to convert some DVD ISO files to something that TVersity can transfer around the house, I've tried MP4's and MKV files, but they either give me no audio or complain the Bit rate is too high.

what is the best file to convert these ISO files to and maintain decent video quality and still be able to be streamed by TVersity?

I have been able to get them to stream to my HR20, by using MPG2, and keeping the rate to 8000 kbps. Those were created in Sony Vegas, and some converted using AVS Video Converter.

Has anyone had any issue with TVersity or Play-On after a DECA install. I can't get either to work. It attempts to play the video and then goes back to what I was watching after a few seconds. My Wii works fine with this software so it isn't the software or the computer and this worked prior to my DECA upgrade. Just curious. Thanks.

    Works with SWiM/DECA here.

There might be some form of "issue" with how your router is configured to handle port forwarding or else uPnP.

    But yes...it works here.

    Hello all,

I waited awhile to add my HR20 to my network and must say it was much easier than I thought it would be.

I am streaming through Tversity to my HR20 and onto my Lexicon RV8 AVR. It sounds pretty good so far.

My question is on the quality of sound people have been experiencing through D*Tv boxes to their audio systems? I am competing with a Oppo BDP-83SE player that I love for audio playback, but I'd prefer not to handle discs, at least CDs.

I haven't tried to stream through the Oppo which I understand is possible. May try that next to take advantage of the DAC in that unit.

    Thanks,
    Max

I recently had to replace my computer and therefore had to re-do my Media Share setup. I was able to reinstall Tversity and get it to work, but now when I invoke Mediashare from the 'Music, Photos and more' menu and then select 'My Computers', there are 2 entries. Both have the name of my computer followed by a colon . I seem to recall that it used to say Tversity after the computer name, but I guess my new Computer's name is too long to allow the rest of the text to be displayed.

The problem is that I can't tell at a glance which entry is for Tversity. I have figured out that it is the first one, but that can be hard to remember (at my age, that is becoming common). So I guess the real question is: What is that 2nd entry for, and how do I get rid of it? It doesn't even allow me to view all the picture on my computer like Tversity does.

A new version (Version 1.9.2) was just released a few days ago.

It appears that they corrected the problems reported by some folks in 1.9.1...

    Hi,

I just connected two of my HR-21's to internet, one hard wired and one wireless using Asus router as client bridge mode. Both show successfully connected to internet.
I installed TVersity on PC and everything is working fine on the hard wired HR-21 and I can see pics and music from my PC.
The HR-21 which is connected wirelessly shows on-demand in menu but nothing for pc media. Also in Tversity should it show both HR-21's? I only see one. Should I change something in router?
    Please help.

    Thanks,
    Jb.

In TVersity, under Status/Devices it should show both of your HR21s.
One thing I have found helpful, with issues like this, is to rebooting your router. It might help.

grey screen help. I have a folder of downloaded tv shows.TVeristy sees my HR21 but when i play the video I get grey screen, but the status bar and time of the show are moving, just no sound or video. I even downgraded back to tveristy 1.7.5 that some had said worked better. I can get any video to stream at all, just grey screen.

    thanks for any help

Downloaded tversity 1.9.3 and am having the same problem with my HR21. Clicked on the box for avi's but I also just get the grey screen & status bar but nothing else. Everything else works great with it though. Another question...does anyone know if the pro version would allow me to watch espn 360? Would love to watch games on a bigger tv than my lil computer screen.

I still can't get my pics to shuffle on 1.9.3 running XP. I even split the files so they are smaller.

Everything worked before the last S/W push.....and doesn't matter which HR I'm using.

I've got tversity working for just about everything I need on my hr24 and h23. One problem I'm having is that videos have a brief pause every second. It's pretty consistent. My PC should be able to handle the transcoding as I don't have this problem on the exact same files via Air Video which also transcodes prior to streaming. Anyone have any hints for me? The files were actually ripped for use on my iPhone and iPad but should work ok in this application too.

Try downloading and installing the CCCP codecs. That fixed it for me.

Only certain types of videos work. Also, how they are compressed is a factor on if they work or not.

I have played with various types of home made videos and found various .avi videos work OK, as long as their compression ration is low. I have not been able to get any .flv videos to work though.

You have to play around to see what will work and what won't work.

Never got WMP to work with it but today, for the first time in over 2 years I got TVersity to work with my PC and Directv!! I haven't seen Music, Photos, and More in the Menu in like forever!! All I did was just for ****s and giggles, I brought up TVeristy on my pc, it told me there was an upgrade, I upgraded it and voila!! Finally, after 2 plus years of frustration. I ran an upgrade back then which screwed everything up and for many others as well. Apparently they must have fixed it in new release. I didn't even have to reset dvr; it just appeared in Menu...yea!! I felt like sharing...so happy!!
